Chatter where? Show me one person that is even speculating that Naz is gone and where? He's certainly not transferring. Dude is as cyclone as it gets and he already addressed it. Dumb post.

Al 4 State is the chatter. Perfect media type. "Will Naz transfer? Some think so. Our story at 10".

Al doesn't have a history of throwing **** at the wall. The fact is that there is a nonzero chance Monte and Naz leave. I doubt either happens, however, it could.

thats some high quality jibberish.

High praise coming from Chicken Little. Figured you'd be curled up in a ball by now.

Again, this is why no one posts any substantive information here anymore. Post it without a complete bibliography and get attacked.

The same people bagging on Al are probably the same people saying there's no chance that Hoiberg would leave for the Bulls either. It's not apples to apples considering Hoiberg said his dream was to eventually coach in the NBA, but the fact is that no one knows whether Monte or Naz are coming back right now. Hell, Monte and Naz might not know yet themselves. Everything's a possibility at this point, and those possibilities have likely been discussed throughout many circles around Cyclone Nation. Perhaps that's all that Al's "chatter" was referring to.

Some of you need to lighten up.

Repped. **** like the last page or two is what drives people away from CF's forums.

A lot of the same people were all over cubs when the Minnesota deal went down too. Pretty much the same reaction to someone who was right. Then when the Bulls thing gained traction, same ****. One of those things happened, one did not.

The point was that the people who say there's no way and that the OP of the info is just talking are wrong. I don't know the answer to your question and, really, I doubt anyone does know that answer. He could come out tomorrow and say he's not leaving but that doesn't make Al less right. He didn't say everyone had a foot out the door.

All of this said, this is a different team attitude that we've seen the last 2 weeks, especially tonight. The team, as a whole, hasn't looked this happy all year. Everyone is engaged and everyone is playing hard. We don't win this game 3 weeks ago shooting like we did. This team won a game where they made next to nothing for a half and then went well over 5 minutes without a point in the second half but no one ever hung their head and everyone just kept playing. I don't care if it was OSU, the attitude is independent of that. Hopefully they've turned the corner.

Actually, I was one of the first to say Fred was leaving and got pounded by the CF faithful. But this is different, Naz isn't leaving.

Only way I could see Naz leaving (besides the chance his redshirt is denied) is if Monte doesn't come back. You think about it, Naz will have seen literally everyone in his Cyclone career come and go. Came in w/Georges and SDW, both gone. Hoiberg, gone. Kane, Hogue, McKay, Nader, BDJ all got here after him and will leave before he does. He'd still have Matt, but if there's anyone on this team he doesn't have warm fuzzies for, it's probably the guy he competed with for PT his whole career. He may want a fresh start, since he'd be taking the court with essentially an entire new group of guys next year anyway. If Monte stays, he stays. Otherwise I say we probably lose both.

Substantive in what way? What does "chatter" constitute? He said it's not Insider info. Some, like me, would just like to know where he is hearing this chatter so we can know if it is worth taking seriously or not. There is a world of difference between posting a bibliography and making claims with nothing to back it up.

The chatter is in Al's head. He said nothing of substance to back it up. Naz isn't leaving. Monte will test the waters and find out that he will be either a late 2nd round pick or not be drafted and will come back. And I have no inside information.

i agree. And you will remember I predicted that Naz wouldn't come back. I just think the claim tonight came out of no where.

as far as Monte goes, who knows. As I said, he will make a smart decision. CW said the chatter wasn't around him leaving but at some point late last year before Blum was given the marching orders to tell us how great it was going to be for Iowa state when Fred left, he also said Fred would stay. So I don't put a lot of trust in that.

I I agree the attitude of the team right now is a ton better.

This is where I like the new NCAA rule about testing the NBA waters. He can get out there, talk to everyone he needs to talk to about his prospects and then come back to ISU if he doesn't like what he sees. Having Naz back next year won't hurt either. Would be a solid back court.

Correct. I'll go further. It would arguably be the best backcourt in the country. Morris, Long, Thomas? Seniors? Jackson, Babb, Cooke and Long off the bench? Holy Moly. I'll take it.

(even without Monte it would still be very "solid" and one of the best in the Big 12)

I can't believe worrying about Naz transferring is even a thing. Monte leaving sure, but Naz? Why do people do this to themselves....
