Solid season. Next year will be a rebuilding year and will probably drive is all nuts. There is going to be some growing pains till Prohm gets his players in here. Hoibergs true era and players are coming to an end. Crazy.

That's the thing about basketball. All but just a handful of teams will end their season on a loss. So unless you're a post season tournament champ or play in the Ivy league, this is how it ends.

Next year will be probably tougher than most think. Having zero frontcourt won't be good. I hope it isn't gonna be like the last year of Wayne Morgan. I think we still find a way to make the tourney next year.

Our backcourt will be good enough to make us a bubble team next year if Monte comes back. Frontcourt depth will be an issue. we will give up some games to the likes of Baylor, WVU, KU and other large lineups in the Big12. If Malou is as good as advertised we may surprise some people later in the season. Just gotta play well enough to get back into the big dance.

Gonna suck to not see Niang suiting up anymore.

Was at game. Seeing Niang walk off court was definitely the most heart wrenching thing Ive seen in sports.

Been preparing for this moment since this summer - what makes me sad is Georges - the kid played his guts out he deserved more.

I'm sad there is no more Georges but I'm so happy I got to watch him shred defenses for 3 years while I was at Iowa State and have a dominant senior season helping us reach a sweet sixteen. I'm excited for next year and can't wait to see what the season brings.

For some reason, I'm not as sad as I thought I'd be. It was great to watch this team play. They took their shot and came up a bit short. Nothing to hang your heads about. It was a privilege to to follow them. Thank you Team and thank you seniors! Always Cyclones!

Way I look at it is we just got to get a little better. When we get this opportunity again, and we will, take it to the next level. May not be next year or the year after that. But we will be good, and stay good. One year we will be great. Heck I though we were great this year! It's all relative.

This year was a great run, the good and the trials, all of it. It's going to be a great experience for Coach P and his staff also. They will grow and learn from it. Can't wait 'till we get to that 3rd weekend!

Two Sweet Sixteens in three years is certainly nothing to hang our heads about, so I guess I'm not as sad as I thought I would be too.

Love these kids. Losing Georges is going to take a while to sink in. Think I'll wait to watch the post game videos, cause those are going to hurt.

I think for some it won't really sink in till that first game is played next season and Niang isn't on the court.

I agree. Would probably of hurt more if we lost on a last second shot or had a UNI like collapse. VA was the better team tonight.
