If Boehringer doesn't make it as a WR he could be one heck of a special teams player. A lot of options with his combination of size and speed.

Perfect pick in round 6!! His size and athleticism will get him a spot on the final roster, it's just a matter of getting him up to speed with the NFL game. I wonder which WR will lose a roster spot now.

No, I took it as from all the hype that was created over him, that there was no way he wouldn't get drafted. Hawks fans were telling me how he might have been the greatest dlineman at Iowa since ferentz showed up. There have been injured players drafted before, even a couple linebackers this year in the second round. You seem pretty sensitive about Ott.

I think it's awesome when your fandom guides you to take pleasure in a player not getting drafted due to serious injuries because he was a hok. Good on you.

Not exactly sure.

Keep trying to twist it. You're working hard at it. Keep adding words to what we said.

Pretty simple equation. Ott didn't get drafted because of two major injuries sustained his senior year. You and other ISU fans are happy he didn't get drafted. Am I wrong?

Nobody said they were happy about it.

You're wrong. I didn't care if he did or didn't. I was told by Iowa fans that I know that he was a probable first rounder throughout the year. There were 2 linebackers that were considered first rounders that had injury question marks on them. They dropped to the second round, IIRC. I didn't care if or where they were drafted either. Figured Ott would drop a round or two also.

Pretty good breakdown of where the draft picks came from. Some interesting notes: Big 12 had 26 players drafted which was good enough for 5th best conference and only beating out FCS by only 5 players. Also, the top 3 Big 12 schools with players drafted:
1. Baylor
Tie for 2nd between TCU & WVU

Also for those realignment fans:
Temple had 3 players drafted
Cincy and Colorado state each had 2 players drafted
BYU and Memphis each had 1 player drafted

He was awesome when healthy. You seem pretty content that all his injuries kept him from getting drafted though. So, congrats?

Nope, I wouldn't have cared if he would've been drafted at all. Just constant Hawk fans telling us how good he is got a bit old. He kinda did it to himself by not doing more pre draft stuff while waiting for a hardship after playing 6 games.

He was recovering from reconstructive ACL surgery. What exactly was he supposed to do?

Boy you really ran with something there. I don't see anywhere that an ISU fan is happy he didn't get drafted. But keep reaching!!!

It amazes me how much time Hawk fans spend on CF just waiting for their time to jump in.

Being a tweener that probably can't play inside in a NFL game had nothing to do with it.

If you take out the Ohio State outlier the B1G and Big 12 per school averages are pretty close

Big 12's per school average is already nearly identical to Pac-12 and better than ACC's

Not sure why you would compare a 10-school conference directly to one with 14 schools without taking care of that enormous variable

Even with Ohio States numbers, the Big 10 was well represented with programs like Illinois, Indiana and Maryland all having 3 players drafted. Iowa had just as many players drafted as Texas (1). Big 12 needs to get their act together.

Edit: after looking at the numbers again, all 14 teams in the Big 10 had at least 1 player drafted.

If Iowa fans expect ISU fans to praise Ott and say how good he is, and feel sorry for him because he didn't get drafted, well, that isn't going to happen.

I surely wouldn't expect any Iowa fans to feel bad about ISU not having anyone get drafted.

Gawd our talent needs to get better. Just looking at where some of these kids came from and is been a few years since we've had someone.

Agreed, we've got a few guys in the league who make a living and make some plays but really Osemele is the only solid NFLer from Iowa State since... I don't even know but it's been quite a while off the top of my head

Yep, those two LBs had legit talent, injury or not. Ott (and the other hawks in the draft) simply had black and gold media self ordained talent.
