kickball update!

So it started well with five runs our first inning and them getting blanked! I don't remember what I did for sure, think I got out at first but DH advanced.

The next inning they got seven runs. Their guys (and a couple girls) were just hitting bombs. Deepest balls all season (hardy har!).

Couple innings later I was on first (think this is when I stared coldly at the pitcher through her bad pitches and got a walk) and the guy behind me kicked it directly between 1st and 2nd. So they got me out but DH and the guy were on. Next guy behind them got them both home and then we were up 11-7.

Other team was up, more deep balls, dropped catches and boom, 11-11. I moved off first to be between 1st and 2nd, whatever that is. Had a couple just go way over my head, that was poopy. Our next inning I think just about everyone on our team scored. I went up bases loaded and they told me to kick hard toward first and try to outrun it. I almost did it. I've been bunting all season but did get it out decently, our first base coach guy said I was about half a second short. But I think someone scored on that so that was good. So then we were up 17-11. Meow friend had two great kicks including one that inning that went just over the guy's head on first, bases loaded, and I think three people scored. Then she and her husband got home when he kicked behind her.

2nd to last inning we had two outs and a guy had a strong kick but I stared it down and got the catch to end the inning! My team cheered. That last second before I caught it, I could see them just watching me with bated breath, lololol.

Bottom of the inning we were still up 18-12 and we had two outs on them. At least one person was on base and another ball came right at me. But this one was much higher than the first I caught and I was losing confidence as it came down. I was about a step too far ahead of it and I think I touched it as it came down and them WAM! Someone's arm in my head, some fumbling around, and then cheers!

Guy behind me had come up to cover and when I touched the ball, he reached up for it (elbowing me, he apologized profusely), like pinned it between us and caught it a couple feet off the ground. Great ending!

So now it's on to birthday party fun for which we are planning to play kickball. It will happen because all the girls want to practice kicking. I think drunk kickball sounds fun! Plus we're up to like 15 people attending so we could pretty much field two teams. So many friends, guys!

oh yeah, so our first game some guy on a team playing after us brought his little rat dog. Like a mini greyhound or something, ugly as ****.

tonight, meow friend brought her adorable dog and she was saying hey now we are the team with a dog! And I go and it's not like that ugly rat dog! English friend is nonchalantly like "I just saw that dog" and another friend is like, making a face. I turn around and no ******* ****, it's rat dog owner and his rat dog coming over to meet meow friend's dog. I don't think he heard me but what were the ******* odds! I don't even know where the hell he came from. I think they played before us but then they stuck around for our game? I don't even, it was like those comedy shows when someone is talking **** about a person who's right behind them.

So there is your long update and now I should go read for a bit before bed. No rum brooklyn tonight, got much to do tomorrow!
This kickball update was incredibly descriptive. You can actually sense the excitement and I almost feel like I was there after reading it. So many adjectives and exclamations, guys!

Do you think she will realize that the accidental run in with the outfielder was a way for him to get a cheap feel?

Sounds more like Wellington Lows to me...

Sad but true. Like most places it is an old part of town that is now super cheap to live in and we all know how that goes. Major kudos to Rabbuk for working with those kids and doing his best to help them.

CG congrats on the kickball win another fine update.

Under rhubarb news steak and rhubarb crisp for supper, lunch was burgers and rhubarb pie. Pie was good crisp is still my favorite.

I need to get some rhubarb.

I should also send out a bat signal to Birdy. Going to try making a cheesecake today for birthday party tomorrow. But I have no idea what I'm doing.

nah, his very nice and new girlfriend was also playing. and I think the only actual touching was his elbow hitting my head so that would be a poor attempt.

Our baseball game was so boring last night that we started playing urban cowboy trivia. Even worked in a little encino man trivia also.
