Alien abduction also bothers me as well. A Fire in the Sky also messed me up the first time I saw it by myself. In the dark. Possession movies are hit or miss with me. If not done right, the possessed can come off as pretty cheesy.

Ashley Bell pulls off possession quite well in "The Last Exorcism" movies. I actually enjoyed the sequel more because they shot it traditionally rather than documentary style as they did in the original. The Paranormal Activity franchise is getting beyond ridiculous with it.

Can I ask, for those that liked the Conjuring, what it was that made you like it? If you know? I found it ridiculously boring and can't figure out what about it people found scary. Maybe I just need to try to view it in a different light?

Boring? What do you find to be scary?

The most chilling part of The Conjuring for me was the use of the Annabelle doll.

Circle is really dumb so far, I liked the original title better "50 stereotypes argue for 2 hours".

Yeah, it's definitely not a horror. Psychological, but don't even know if I'd call it a thriller. Don't really know what genre I'd put it in. I think it's just supposed to make you think about what you'd do in that situation.

Take Shelter isn't really a horror film, but It has some of that Hithcock-like descent into madness feel to it. I loved the acting and mood of the movie.

I watched Exam on Netflix quite awhile ago and remember liking it better than this, it's in the same ballpark genre wise I'd say.

Not exactly sure.
I think what I find as a horror is when the movie mentions full frontal and it turns out to be a dude. I don't care to see some guys wanker. They need to specify male or female nudity. That would be a great improvement to movies.

What's so unbelievable? I know you've had discussions in the cave, so that movie is no different.
Well the whole thing is obviously unbelievable, but that's not my problem with it. The characters and dialogue is awful, just 50 caricatures of stereotypes.

I don't think "It's just like the cave" would be anyone's idea of the tagline of a good movie. Now maybe we can assign cave posters to each character to give this movie some redeeming qualities.

I've already got a couple in mind, but I don't want to close the thread down.

Speaking of demonic possession, anyone remember The Possession starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan?

Watching "They Look Like People." Just getting into it, but it looks kind of like the same kind of storyline as They Live or Body Snatchers.
