That means sales are going pretty well I'd say. Doesn't that mean about 48k or so have been sold, or am I way off on that?
I think they hold back 5,000 for visitor allotment so those aren't included in the number of available tickets. Plus you have the student section what is that 8,000?. I'm still not sure exactly how many actual seats there are in JTS

If there are still 13,859 tickets on the website, then 61,500 - 13,859 = about 48K. My guess is that is off a little bit, but we are probably looking at Season Ticket sales ion excess of 40K, which is amazing. WV is looking at 25K for season ticket sales right now, and obviously they have a whole lot more success than we do. Heck, even FSU only has Season Ticket sales around 40K in a stadium that seats 80K. I can't imagine what season ticket sales at ISU would look like if ISU had FSU type success.

Yesterday, on a long trip back to the lake, I listened to football's top 16 on XM84. FSU was on almost every list, including fan base, yet they often leave their stadium unfilled. No mention of Iowa State. Best college towns included Seattle and LA; college towns? Best uniforms, Michigan was tops (no argument), included Penn State - everyone else's practice togs. Best coaches included Jim Harbaugh and Mark Richt but not Bill Snyder - top 16 mind you. Anyway, had to get it off my chest somehow. And seeing FSU triggered it mightily. Mea culpa.

You're forgetting the tickets held back for opponents and the student section which I think make up about 13,500. Plus I still don't think that 61500 is seats. Pretty sure that includes lil cyclone club and their parents hillside seats.

Campbell appeals to young fans. Who apparently don't want to buy tickets. I'm surprised that the new entrance song and the new helmets hasn't caused everyone from 21-35 to increase their season tickets by at least double. That's what I was told would happen!

I'm 33 and doubled my tickets this year

Not related at all but I'm not a hypocrite either. Oh I know... "there is no talent on this team." LOL is right.

Backpedals still fully engaged.

If there is so much talent, and coaching wasn't a problem, why did Rhoads only win 8 games in the last 3 years?

61,500 is listed as capacity and as the attendance for the UNI game last year.

[h=3]Jack Trice Stadium at Glance[/h]
  • First Game: Sept. 20, 1975 vs. Air Force
  • Largest Crowd: 61,500 vs. Northern Iowa (Sept. 5, 2015)
  • Capacity: 61,500

If capacity is 61,500, then this may be how it is currently itemized.

4000 for opponents
4000 for hillsides (2000 each)
13859 season tickets available
8000 students
31641 season tickets sold

Thus, we stand close to 40,000 season tickets sold to students and non-students. Not bad.

When do single game tickets go on sale? Any word if they will be doing mini packs again?

First post on the site. I am a Hawk fan first. Wife is an ISU grad and fan. I buy 2 season tickets to ISU games. Will be the second year of having them. The seats are in one of the new lower SW sections. Like the seats. Great view of the video board and when the teams are coming toward the south end zone just great close up view of the action. I do have season tickets to Iowa games also, so I go to those when Iowa is home and sometimes she goes with me if ISU not home, otherwise she goes to ISU game. We both go to ISU game when Iowa not at home. Pretty much have a college football game to go to all season long this way. Once it gets "cold", meaning below about 50 degrees, my wife is out. She does not like sitting in the cold, although we did go to the TCU game last fall and it got pretty chilly in the second half. She didn't go with me to the Iowa / Purdue game at home though when we got the 10 inches of snow and quite cold.

I also graduated from UNI and Iowa so have connections to all 3. Just like college football and yes, when Iowa plays ISU I am all Iowa and my wife is all ISU. When they are not playing we all want ISU to win. Lots of Iowa kids on the Iowa State team and I would be damned if I would want any team from Texas or Oklahoma or Kansas over a team with Iowa kids on it.

Not sure if I will pick up any additional single game tickets. Probably will for some early games so additional kids can go. Have one daughter that is an ISU fan and one son that is an Iowa fan and one too young to know what football is yet.

I do like the ease of getting to the restrooms at JT and concessions. Some game I am going to buy a couple of tickets so we can get into that indoor area in the south end zone to have a beer during a game.

I will also add I am not one of those Hawk fans that believe we should drop ISU. I think playing this game when we do gets the new guys ready for a Big Ten level intensity and when it is in Ames, gets the guys used to noise and a tough environment. I attended last year obviously and I also went to Madison to the Iowa / Wisconsin game there and I would say Ames was louder than Madison was during the game.

I'm sorry but please stop covering your hind ends with this kind of bs.

We have tucker and that's' it? The oline looks no different than it did last year at this time.

My goodness people. Just stop. It's beyond ridiculous.

Whether you want to admit it or not rhoads made people excited to watch cyclone football for two reasons. They upset big teams and he was proud to be here.

Campbell will need to do more than change the uniforms and intro music. He actually needs to win some games. Crazy, I know.

So Campbell needs to do what Rhoads didn't do the last few years.

IMO, what made ISU exciting the last few years was that we believed the hype that we would be better. The Expansion of Jack Trice last year along with Iowa and UNI on the schedule helped increase ticket sales.

If Rhoads was the Head Coach this year, ticket sales would be way down.

And still no answer to the original questions.

When will single game tickets be available?

And will there be a minipack?

Lol looking forward to a day when former coaches are not mentioned on CF, but that will probably be the day of the apocalypse.

I don't care it it's a thread about the former coach, but every football thread ends up delving into what Rhoads did wrong.

I just want some tickets dang it. I was hoping they would be out for my birthday so my parents could buy me some.

We got those cheap no donation tickets for previous mini-pack purchasers. I have relatives who had season tickets for years, but did not renew due to small child. They are really hoping the mini-packs are offered again though. I am guessing they will unless the season tickets really sell well.

Thanks. I couldn't remember when they came out last year. I just remember pouncing on them real quick.

Pretty sure I jumped on the mini-packs last year when they were announced and my statement says that was July 16. I did up the tickets to season tickets this year so JP was at least partially successful with those. Although looking back at what I paid last year makes the deal for the season tickets really Really good.

There was a thread started last year that appears on July 14. So we might see something really soon. There appear to be quite a few tickets available but scattered through-out the stadium.

After reading your post you seem like a pretty normal and rational human being. Are you SURE you are a Hawk fan???
