Saturday will be very busy so be prepared from heavy crowds from 10-8ish. If you are parking, they will probably run out of parking in the official lots by mid afternoon, then you will have to either park off site at the capitol and take the free buses or pay to park in someone's lawn (no joke). Wear sunscreen and drink lots of water, especially if you plan to eat that greasy fried food. Get the cup of cookies in the varied industries building, you'll thank me later.

Sit at the craft beer tent and don't leave.

This is the correct answer. Although you have to be careful with times. From 11-1 about 75% of the people in the craft beer tent were not drinking, they were there just to sit down and eat/feed kids. Once 1pm hit, it got better. Next year I'd like to check out Top of the Vine.

On a side note, took Uber to the fair and it worked awesome.

doesn't it piss you off when you see really attractive women with total d-bag rednecks. it's like "hey baby i'll take you to perkins for a date". "be still my beating heart."

The Iowa State Fair is proof positive that the number of attractive women far outweighs the number of good looking men.

It's a dangerous game you all are playing with the good-looking girls thing. I'm gonna stay away from that.

This

There is also the same cookie place next to the craft tent

A lotta this

That post disturbed me. I used to work with this horrifically oversized and ugly woman who had an oversized and ugly husband who used to use going home after work for a "batch of cookies" as a euphemism for sex.

I will be there Saturday and this is what my plan consists of:

Go to the IFAA Scholarship Luncheon
Look for Irregular jeans in my size at the Leon Western Wear Tent
Go to Stockmans and drink beer with my Livestock Friends.
Grab Cheese Curds
Make my back to Stockmans

Looking forward to a fun lil Saturday.

The ISU booth in Varied Industries has some cool stuff. Football schedule/poster, Georges' Karl Malone trophy, and some of the various coaches/players are signing autographs. Not sure about the coaches' schedules, but wrestling was there for two hours yesterday. The main focus this year is Art on Campus, and Rose Frantzen is doing portraits of ISU from 11-8. The ever popular fake tattoos have been a big hit again this year too.

Not sure which building it is, but the 4-H exhibit stuff.

Those kids make just about everything, from science projects to art to farm machinery. And you will find 30 things that are just amazing and you can't believe some kid created it. Seriously, it's way cool.
