You mean Arizona weather like this?

Sounds delicious. I'll have some of that.La bola de cristal está favoreciendo la Universidad Estatal de Iowa?
I live in Phoenix, and that is from the worst storm we have had in close to 20 years (I went offroading in the storm and blew a hole in the side of my FJ Cruisers Engine because I flooded it). Also the water was gone in a few hours. Lastly where it floods like that is the equivalent of driving to Des Moines from Ames.
You're not helping.
I don't know why they took it out completely, unless they didn't want it to look empty, or maybe the new developers wanted their buildings to be able to be seen from the stadium since there is alot of office buildings and large buildings being put up in Tempe? But to be fair, the Cardinals played there from 88-05, so maybe they were the ones who paid to have that section put in, in the first place, to accommodate more fans.My bad. While the women are great, the campus is not. Iowa States campus is 100 x nicer, and Hilton is hands down better than ASU Wells Fargo (DSM Wells Fargo as well). Also the fans at ISU are 1000x better. No one here cares about anything other than the Cardinals and the Suns. Everyone in this city is a transplant so very few are fans of the home team. For example where I work we only have one person that is actually from Phoenix in the office (43 employees).
To explain the lack of fan support I submit these two pictures of Sun Devil Stadium. Past and Present, and yes they did remove part of the upper deck and decrease capacity from 71,706 to 56,232.

I agree that ISU's campus is better, but there is only so many palm trees and cacti that you can put up to make the desert campus more green and beautiful. It is in more of a metro area, unlike UofA (which I liked a lot more than ASU, sans-Tucson as a city), so it has more of that type of feel. IMO.
What idiots! I mean, I know it doesn't rain that much in AZ, but there is still monsoon season. What did they think was going to happen?? hahahaThe upper deck was completed in 1977 while the Cardinals were still in St. Louis (poor guys everyone leaves to go west). They had to redo the entire stadium due to structural issues. They actually took out the entire lower bowl, and replaced it. My assumption is the cost of redoing the entire upper deck with the lack of attendance wasn't worth it. They never waterproofed the concrete so it eroded over time. They are putting a giant video board there. At the end of the day the stadium will be nicer, but it will be smaller.
P.S. Sorry for the thread derail everyone.

Good for 20-25 range of class ranking last year. Not to rile up anyone too much, but if we land Stokes and Wigginton that would boost our class to a 247 score of 58.44, which would be good for 4th in the nation.

Wigginton is not very Malou-like. I can tell you that.I can but will be cryptic because I hear that's cool.
Maybe we'll be ranked that high for now, but once the blue bloods start landing their 5 stars it will bump us down.
Regardless, that would be a great class and likely top 20
When did they remove the upper deck? Wasn't it still there when we were in the Insight Bowl? I might be wrong, I was pretty intoxicated.
I'm amazed that so many posters feel the need to defend Arizona's honor against my post.I live in Phoenix, and that is from the worst storm we have had in close to 20 years (I went offroading in the storm and blew a hole in the side of my FJ Cruisers Engine because I flooded it).
