I bet they go grey uni with white lid for OU. Gonna look great under lights.
I think they would look better without those red and yellow strips on the shoulder
I like them, but on TV you can't make out the names of players or the "Iowa State" on front, which kind of defeats the purpose of promoting the university when a casual fan tuning in had no idea who is playing
ISU seems to fk up a good thing somehow
I hear you but I'm the other way; didn't like the cardinal matte helmets at all last time they were used. Hope they never bring those back. Maybe if they did it differently, perhaps a simple one-color stencil logo, it might work. But I do prefer the gloss or semi- gloss atleast, helmets.Uni's are growing on me, maybe because we aren't playing poorly.
IMHO I'd like matte cardinal helmets and not glossy with these unis.
Older crowd would be perfectly content to watch players in tomato red uni's play losing football in an empty stadium forever.

I'm 50+++++ and thought they were great.I love them but I'm under 40, if I wasn't I'd probably hate them.
Totally agree on trying different combosConsidering that, these were damn good uniforms and I'd love to see them worn as cardinal or white helmet, white jersey, anthracite pants for a road game or white helmet, anthracite jersey, white pants at home. I don't know how well the cardinal jersey would go with the new pants, in my head it seems like it wouldn't work as well.
I'm 48 and I loved them. You might want to keep the whole "older crowd" generalization down a little bit.
Oh and ...get off my lawn
OVER 70 HERE -- I LOVE EM.I love them but I'm under 40, if I wasn't I'd probably hate them.
