The current uniform with cardinal helmet, white jersey, and cardinal pants is the best look that ISU has ever put on a football field IMO.

I don't love the home uniform though as I wish there was some white in it.

I'd love for someone to argue how our jerseys are great/better/the best like some of you claim they are rather than just bash me for the opinion that matches national opinion that they are not very good. (however bias it may be, you all need to realize your Cyclone bias as well.)

I just know in my heart our jerseys aren't very great and I'd like to see us with better ones. If you all believe these are the best jerseys and we can't do better, then no one (however how many) will convince you against their greatness. I understand the winning perception train of thought, but ISU doesn't have the winning history of Texas/OU and never will. So we need to have standout jerseys to lure players/recruits. I refuse to believe that if we started winning 10+ games a year that all of a sudden the nation would believe our current jerseys are better than Texas/OU/etc even if they also became perennial losers.

You're bitchin' just to bitc.h. First, you care wayyy too much about our unis. And if you don't like them, then suggest something better.
Why do you give a rats ass what some bloggers say about our UNIs? I can't ever remember turning on ESPN to hear them bashing our unis. And if they were... WHO GIVES A ****?!!!!

It's a uniform thread buddy. excuse me for staying on topic and talking about uniforms....you're obviously taking it way to serious yourself if you can't go a sentence without cursing. I pointed how are unis are subpar and was called "ignorant." I'll defend my posts if I need to. And if you ACTUALLY read my post I DID suggest something better. Go google image search Iowa State concept jerseys, many amateur fans have mocked better stuff than what we currently have. If you wanna go throwbacks, then our 2007 Peach Bowl ones were very popular and better than what we currently have. Also go google search "best uniforms in Big 12 or NCAA." That's what I was talking about, you won't find articles with ISU at the top of any. Bottom lists, however, yes. I was NOT saying that you would turn on ESPN and hear them discussing ISU's uniforms on Sportscenter on your TV you ignoramous. I cannot believe I have to explain that to you...

What you're forgetting is that it takes a full year for a team to get a complete change or sets of real alternates done up. That means, when a new, young coaching staff comes in, it will take them until the next full season to have full blown alternates. You can complain all you want, but if you wait a year you might find that there are things going on behind the scenes to make changes. Whining about it now does nothing.

I think the two bolded parts of your post would be completely different if we won 10 games a year, even if we kept the current uniforms (plus options we have now). The reason we are on the bottom ten lists is because we are a bottom ten team. No other reason. USC makes "best uniforms" lists, but we are at the same time "bottom ten". I'd like you to explain that, since we have the exact same uni other than logo and shoulder stripes.

I get your point though. They could be better... but it seems that we are now AT LEAST trying to get some different looks.

In one of the pics there's some gray stuff hanging with the red jersey but I'm thinking those are girdles and not actual pants. Would be interesting to see red jersey/gray pants.

Looks like you were right. Red jersey/gray pants today. I'm curious to see how this looks.

The best ever is the Jack Trice throwbacks, no contest. They were unique, full of tradition, and were the cat's pajamas.

I loved those too. i wish we could come up with a non-metallic version of those uniforms for our every day uniforms. I didnt mind them for one game but if we used them every week, I dont like the metallic / shiny nature of them.
