Do you people realize we lost Nebraska & A&M with 85,000/95,000-seat stadiums? And we are vetting places like UCF, South Florida, Memphis, and other horrible replacements? Places that attract 25-30K in attendance? Good gawd people

Why are so many offended of the power and clout of Texas & OU??
They need to be the flag-bearers of the Big 12---and they are crucial to the Big 12's viability and future. It's like Bernie Sanders took over some of your critical-thinking and we must dumb-down this conference to make it "FAIR & Balanced".

good gawd wft is this world (and conference) coming to?

Bowlsby WHIFFED on an outside chance wooing Florida St & Clemson 4 years ago. We WHIFFED on Louisville.

We turn this conference into the old WAC or Conference USA, you will see Texas & OU LEAVE for the SEC

Astounding people are "OK" with this. fricking insane

This.....except we didn't whiff on Louisville.

They are leaving anyway. The B12 has seen its best days as evidenced by recruiting.

Bowlsby an elitist and I have little faith he is committed to the health of his own conference and especially the future of the have-nots like ISU.

It's sad our football lack of success has forged this perception. ISU has the 3rd largest stadium now, and is top-2/3 in mbb and wbb attendance, yet we're treated like some MAC school.

The dummy sports guys at 1600AM CR were interviewing the North Dakota St radio guy before our first game, and asked him if North Dakota St would be getting a Big 12 invite to join!

That is what we're dealing with. A HAWK radio station with HAWK shills who happen to carry ISU fb and basketball games... and totally clueless

People were saying the same thing about the Big 10 four to five years ago. urban Meyer and Jim Harbaugh join the conference and a few years later everyone is touting the strength of the Big10.

The image of the Big12 can change based on the next round of coaching changes. Baylor is likely looking for a new coach. I still think UT will replace Charlie Strong. There is also potential TT will be looking to replace Kingsbury. We could also see a change at K-State- Snyder can only coach so long.

The Big12 can survive if the conference is strong on the field. That is the best chance at keeping UT and OU once the current GOR expires. It is also the best way to attract other P5 schools.

IMO schools like Houston, Cincy, USF, UCF, CSU, etc have a 6-7 year window to develop their brand and show the TV Networks their value in the next round of rights negotiations.

It could have more to do with the coaches than the conference. Stoops is the biggest name in the conference and he really isn't an elite coach anymore. They said during the game last night Texas's last 2 classes were top 10 classes. Baylor was getting talent under Briles. TCU seems to get some good talent. Same with OSU.

If Texas and OU think recruiting has slipped lately then wait until one of them joins the BIG or ACC or PAC and opens Texas up to an all new conf recruiting the state..Right now..The big 12 and Sec are the 2 primary conf that recruit Texas well..Other Conf do but not nearly as well because there is no Texas school in their conference..This single reason alone is why Tx and OU should want to keep the big 12 together..if it dies the days of Tx and OU dominating (well OU) are long gone IMO.

What u see and read are OU and Tx fans and long time sports writers who want to see the big 12 die and their beloved TX move to a conf where it isn't made fun of..As long as Tx and OU are making as much if not more $$ than most teams than they ain't going anywhere IMO.

Correct. Why anyone would want to box ISU into a future G6 is beyond be. Best thing now is for all 10 teams and media partners to develop a plan to place everyone and get to where we're headed anyway...P4. OU and UT get out faster and cleaner by helping the other 8 find landing spots.

The difference is that four teams LEFT the conference. That's unprecedented for major power conferences. The Big XII is on its way to getting shut out of the CFP two of its first three seasons. The pressure on UT and OU to leave is getting high.

So why don't Texas or OU just win more games?
You'd have to ask them that but understand that perception is reality in major college football. UT and OU won't blame themselves for getting embarrassed by tOSU and Cal but they'll gladly blame innocent bystanders like us. Time for discussing what's real is past. It's time now to help the rich crybabies so we can help ourselves.

I agree, but pride and irrationality will likely prevent this.

Does anyone find it a bit odd that the big 12 would advertise this presser at 5:30 to just say..well after all that we aren't doing anything and the networks have agreed to give us more money? What I also find interesting is that BYUtv will be carrying the presser live..hmmm. Maybe they've come to a deal where the networks don't have to pay all that money to add 2 teams and they agreed to let big 12 add 2 fball only schools and worked out new tv deal but removed pro rata clause? Who knows.

And now it's all over Twitter that Cincinnati media will be on hand at the pressed too. So it appears to be BYU and Cincy, at minimum.

And I would like to welcome all the sister-wives to the Big12.

Or it could be that the media from those schools/markets want to be at the press conference because either way their fans and readers will want to know the story of why they are in or out.

Maybe, but this tweet doesn't appear to be merely informative...

If there's one conference that would schedule a televised expansion event in early-evening to announce it has a new media deal and will not expand, it's The Big XII.
