I'm sitting down to write about this right now but I've been working sources today about Iowa State's running back situation and specifically, Mike Warren's status.

What I've come up with: It sounds like Montgomery has simply beaten him out. He's been much better in practice as of late and I guess it hasn't even been that close.

Also sounds like Warren's early season fumbling issues (and dropping of passes) probably had something to do with it.

As far as the QB's go, I'm hearing that Matt Campbell really liked how the position was managed late in yesterday's game.

At this point, I'll be very surprised if we don't see Park be the guy in the middle of the field with Lanning being brought in in short yardage and goal line situations. Staff believes Joel is the best runner on the team and love him as a leader. Don't want to bench him as they still believe he can and will help them win. I assume this situation will continue to evolve.

So, at running back one guy has been better than another and beaten him out, but at QB they are still going to go with 2 guys? Does that mean that they are equal in practice, or just that they like one over the other in certain situations?

I am really not a fan of a two man system at QB, maybe a wildcat series or two, but there is a reason that teams don't do it, it rarely works out.
