Don't think Gonzaga is quite as good as people think, they will never shoot like that from 3 again...NGW was what 6/6 from 3 lol

And if he's 5/6 we win. They are a legit top 10 team, IMO. There's no shame in an early season loss to a top 10 team at a neutral site.

No guarantee they will make the FF, but they would probably finish no worse than 2nd or 3rd in the B12, and have the talent to win it.

those were uncontested 3's that they were hitting. granted still good shooting but when u leave good players wide open looks that's what u get.

Now that I've calmed down a little, I was considering that we were a last second missed 3 from losing to Indiana State, and came back from down 18 to be a 3 from winning the tournament. A nice turn around for the weekend.

Team is still trying to figure things out without Niang. George would have be the one with the ball in the final secs. Burton was great but do you trust him to make the right decision in the final secs? Naz? I trust Monte but only if he's driving into the lane with option to dish or shoot.

Did the officials review the 3 where it looked like maybe the Gonzaga kid's foot was on the line? I had my tv muted because of the Vitale effect but saw they showed a still shot to the tv audience.

They talked like it should have been a three but they gave them a two, but they never really said what was originally counted.

Good game, Zags are the real deal. This doesn't hurt us at all and only helps us come March. I know Matt is the cause of a lot of hate and a lot of love on here, and I'm not writing him off, but he killed us this game on offense need him to do better than 2 points.

Defensively in the 2nd half though, he was nails.

Height discrepancy in average inch-minutes:
Gonzaga - 78.4
Cyclones - 76.5
On the average, Zag players were 2" taller than ISU players at all times. But at any time there were 2 Zag forwards on the floor averaging 3" taller than ISU's 1 forward. That clearly was a challenge.

I was close to barfing in the first half if Dicky Vitale opened his mouth one more time. Does he ever shut up?

I hate us always looking for a player to bash whenever we lose. There are people seriously bashing Naz on here? We would have been down by 25+ at the half without Naz scoring 16 pts in the 1st half when most of our team looked disinterested.

Bashing Thomas again I see too. He didn't have it today on the offensive end, that happens to everyone, so instead he played unbelievable defense the entire 2nd half allowing us to come back.

C'mon people. Sure we didn't play well the 1st half, but Gonzaga is a pretty elite team and they couldn't miss, but this team did not quit and it's truly amazing they came back and had a chance to win it on the last possession. Great comeback by all the guys busting their rear ends off. Our defense in the 2nd half was extremely good.

I'm proud of all of them. Made Iowa State proud today.

OK. I thought Blum/CW said it was a 3 when they called it live but I could have heard it wrong or they may well have corrected themselves and I missed it as I had a few things going on.

Not in the last 30 years. I know some people like his "enthusiasm" but I honest to God don't know how anybody can listen to him. He's just so obnoxious. WTF was that pep talk to Mickey? That was the last time I listened to the tv broadcast.

Not positive, but I'd be willing to bet Naz has as many clutch end of game shots in his highlight reel as Niang and Morris combined. I actually wish he would have taken the contested three at the end instead of dishing it off.
