I think your expectations of Lard and Stokes, being freshman, not being top 50 recruits, Lard not playing in a game setting for 1.5 years, are a bit lofty.
How many impact freshmen, has ISU brought in over the past 20 years who were probably ready to play day 1?
Now take it a step further, how many impact freshman has ISU had, where there weren't a bunch of junior and seniors on the floor with them?
Wigginton could be that freshman, but unfortunately he is gonna have a lot of other youth on the floor with him.
Kasongo, was a guy that averaged 1.5 points at an okay SEC program. He probably is not going to become a double digit scorer. Though a good point guard, could help improvement in the scorind department, giving him some easy looks.
Unless they pull a high end grad transfer or a couple of high end JC's, that team is gonna be really young. Young teams especially those who are not blue blood programs with 1 and done freshmen, don't consistently make the NCAA tourney.
