Traveling almost 300 miles in just over 2 hours is pretty impressive though.

Not via the crap the poor drivers for the Postal Service have to drive. Talked with our mail carrier yesterday. I always say I can hear her piece of crap vehicle from a block away. Talked a little about that viral video of the mail truck fire. She told me the piece of crap she is driving is a 1987 model. A 30 year old truck? Good lord.

They use personal vehicles here.

So how is everyone's Christmas shopping going? Pretty much been on a small buying frenzy for myself. I truly appreciate the choices I make for myself. "Oh, you shouldn't have!" Plus, holiday deals.

So far: new computer, running pants, new Sear screwdriver set (you know you are old when you have to replace your first Sears screwdriver set cause they are worn out), Sears socket set, Sears mitre saw stand and sparkling wine (Chandon, not Sears) for holidays.

Still on the shopping list: external harddrive, Photoshop Elements, Epson scanner, TV furniture and entertainment center receiver.

Probably not going to have time to shop for stuff for you all. Maybe marrow bone treats for Riley.

I think our post office has outsourced some amazon deliveries that are the smart post (start at UPS then get handed over to USPS). The other day I swear a random old tan van delivered our amazon packages. The other day hubby was waiting for 2 packages--1 from UPS and he said the other was USPS. I said "well all I have so far is an amazon box, mail hasn't been here yet". Turns out the amazon box is what he was waiting for but it was here long before the mail. Now today I am waiting for an amazon delivery through USPS that says put for delivery. Mail has been delivered, but no package. Needs to either be in a amazon box or show up before kids get home from school. It is the oldest's "big" gift and don't want her to see it. And a guitar amp should not be sitting outside long in the winter in Iowa.

Amazon has shifted from UPS to USPS for its primary carrier. If there is large package volume, they might have a separate driver just delivering packages.

Dh's gift looks like it should arrive tomorrow. I'm hoping niece's gifts come the same time. He really has no idea what I got them so I'm hoping I can just let his box blend in and then hide it. Had hoped it would come during the week cause I'm always home first. Though it'd been bad if it came today cause Dh is home. And nosy.

pretty much done. Though a gift I needed by Monday won't arrive til Tuesday (got delayed in Montana for some reason). So now I need to find a gift for a 2 year old boy tomorrow. Work is doing a toy drive thing now as well so I'll give the delayed gift to that instead.

Not exactly sure.
Plumber calls two hours ago. Coming to put in water heater, this is the old dude, so it's basically, he will tell me how to do it. Not here yet. Looks like an exciting Friday night.

I have a bottle of Boulevard's rye-on-rye waiting for me in the fridge. I have some ribeyes pre-rubbed and ready to grill. After several weeks of not really tasting much of anything due to being sick, I'm more excited about this than I should be.
