Downey picks up a 6-4 win at 197 to bring ISU to within 3. He was gassed late but held on to win it.

Smith turns it on late to take a 2-2 tie with a minute left and make it a 6-3 win. Dual tied up 17-17 with one match left.

That was wierd, Simmons spent almost three minutes holding the kid on his back going for a pin and then they reviewed video, reset the clock before the TD, and took away his backpoints. Ref said there was an illegal hold on the TD. I couldn't see it.

Simmons goes down 5-3 and ISU drops the dual 17-20. That was some wierd reffing in the Simmons match.

That hurt.

I sure didn't see anything illegal either. I thought it might have happened on the take down but then they showed it in slow motion, and nothing. Then the announcer, who was pretty unreliable, tried to explain there were locked hands after the take down, but they didn't show it on replay (not that we could see anyway. It also seems like Coleman Scott started screaming at the ref during the takedown, not after. Simmons must have used up all his energy trying to pin the guy and then all those points were taken away.

I think their argument was that he didn't have an arm in the headlock.

Downey looked gassed in the first period after he got the take down. Don't know what happened there other than he was wrestling a heavier guy.

Just like your entire life.

Wow.... nice.... making it personal. How classy.

I thought we were just talking meaningless sports, but no, you take it to the personal level.

Well, just so you know, I won't go there. I respect you too much. I don't even know you, so I can't even make myself go there. Nice touch out of you though, you should be proud.

I see we blew yet another one. Hey, we've beaten one this year though, Northern Colorado or whoever it was? So I guess I'm supposed to come on here and shower this team and coaching staff with praise in hopes it will get better if I'm just patient and wait another year, right? Is that how it works?

The announcer mispronounced everything under the sun.

Periods became rounds
Weatherspoon was Witherspoon
Chaid was like the Indian tea. I think it's pronounced "Chad"
Quean became Queen
At one point he said Marcus Harrington was wrestling for North Carolina.
Another time he said Iowa (not Iowa State)
Symansky became Schamansky

Do you think they got it right?

Yep, he grabbed his other arm for a headlock without having the NC wrestlers arm trapped. It was quick, but it was illegal. Still that had to give him a huge advantage over the NC wrestler who had to fight off his back for 2 1/2 minutes, yet Simmons was the one that gassed. Hate to say it, and I know Simmons is cutting weight, but it's typical of the Jackson era.

Oops.... don't say that. You'll probably get ripped for it. Just warning you. Losing is now acceptable in wrestling at ISU.
