Bad day for the Steven can coach crowd.

That wasn't a JP call my friend that was a Dr. Leath call.

Oh no no. Everyone got taken by JP and by their own belief in how a coaching search "should go" in their own minds. It's cute that you want to believe that yarn of the rogue AD being put in his place by the new Prez of the university.

I'll let you in on a little secret....JP runs **** when it comes to the sports...

These people that jump all over the coach after every loss seem to have the emotional strength of your average toddler.

It's ******* pathetic.

It's the 'what have you done for me lately' and 'instant gratification' posse that mated with 'Fred is the greatest thing since sliced bread and always will be' crowd. They're a sight to see.

Well I'm fairly confident I'm right but I'm not sure it really matters. I have no love loss for JP so if we want to place this hire on him then I'm good with that.

I'm sure there are still people on here that think Travis Hines just made up the story of the rift between Pollard and Hoiberg. Whatever makes them feel better. I did notice how JP fleeced the season ticket holder a few years ago to the tune of 7 million dollars. Average of $2,000 upgrade and 3.5k season ticket holders. Of course he took that money and then hired Steve Prohm for over a million less then he was paying Fred.

JP is shrewd. No one is telling him what to do in terms of coaching hires or anything else in the AD.

That's a large part of it. I'd add this group of mouth breathers also has a clear lack of any experience in athletics at any level.

For those felling good about coach Prohm. Please point to coaching we've seen that has made this team better or given them more chances to win. I'm struggling to see it, but I really like the guy and want to see it. For example tonight Texas attacked the paint as it's Iowa states biggest weakness. That strategy gave Texas a better chance.

Prohm missed all of our wide open looks. Prohm decided to tell Holden to let the ball slip through his hands. Prohm told the refs to call all the ticky tack fouls on us and not Texas. Prohm told Texas to make a lucky ass shot at the end of the 1st half.

Get over it. Prohm's our guy and he's got my support. He's not perfect, but I trust in his process and his leadership.

Your right Prohm can't shoot catch rebound or not foul. That's on the players. But Prohm can (fill in the blank).

I'm just a little worried since the Last isu coach to win in Lawrence is now selling satellite dishes.

He's managed to navigate a team with zero post players that has to rely on ******* Deonte Burton to a point in which they are expected to be in the goddamn tournament.

What the **** else do you need for evidence.

Just so I'm clear on this. He has managed to guide a pre-season Top 25 squad to a 9-11 seed range in the tournament and that is your evidence of success.

He might be successful long-term but I'm not sure how you can defend this season as being a success at this point.

Are you forgetting that he brought in bowie and holden specifically for that reason? They have not proven to be significantly helpful in a place that we have such a big need.

Is this a real comment/take? I'm not even sure I have words right now...

Certainly a bad take but end-of game special situations have just been so brutal this year.

Sad thing there is more than a handful of D-bags who are happy we lost so they can be right.

Most people just want to win. Lots of people from both sides that like to pound their chest...see the thread after the Kansas game annointng him as a great coach.

IMO I think he is a very average coach that perhaps looks worse due to the other coaches in the league. I don't see many matchups in the Big 12 where I think we have a coaching advantage...maybe Chris Beard or Bruce Webber.

I see preseason rankings (useless) are being quoted and emergency takes after NCAA intervention are being blamed, par for the ******* course. Those arguments are based on a handful of writers who are lazy at their job and a lack of understanding on how recruiting works, how exactly am I supposed to argue stupidity?

******* armchair coaching morons.
