No idea what CG is talking about. Don't know Scottish history (outside braveheart and Highlander), never watched thrones and never read McBeth.so I'm reading this Scottish history book to learn more before I get there and while I haven't watched GoT myself, I'm like 85% sure it's based on Scottish history. Don't accept a suspicious invite to a castle for a dinner.
I suppose I get why later usurpers of thrones wipe out their enemies' heirs as well. Cause one dude didn't - just let two young boys be taken in by the Irish. ~20 years later those boys came back for the throne. That is the basis for Macbeth.
Also, I never realized how many times the English kidnapped the would-be Scottish King and kept them for like, decades before they'd be released.
I also read once that it was based on a series of French novels, so in a way it's based on French history, but he probably took history/was inspired by history from all over.so I'm reading this Scottish history book to learn more before I get there and while I haven't watched GoT myself, I'm like 85% sure it's based on Scottish history. Finished reading Bob Hoovers biography "Forever Flying". I knew he was an amazing pilot before reading it but man the stuff he went through and did was amazing. I started reading Tony Dungy's Uncommon last night and enjoy it so far.
Us too! We don't have tickets for tonight's game but we do have them for Saturday. We can't leave until 2, so making it by tip-off is iffy. We're staying at a nearby hotel, so we're going to go see if we can get some tickets outside the sprint center around or after tip-off. If not, then we'll just go to one of the bars & watch.Ow, my arm. Ow ow ow.
*crack*
Oh, that feels better. Yes, I'm headed down to KC today.

Good book
I quit posting in game day thread until after games and we went on our hot streak. You are welcome.
Anyone else have issues with cf who has been on in the last 20-25 minutes. I hit create for gameday thread at midnight, and it wouldn't post. Then I got a refuse to connect message. I went to the site to see if a site is down or it's just me and it said it's wasn't just me.
Omg, this is hilarious.
I love the mom trying to be stealthy
So need to take two pies and some bar cookies for KC Fish Fry tonight. Made a banana cream yesterday and scotcheroos this morning. Don't feel like getting the double boiler out again for another creme pie. Any thoughts on a pie that sounds good?
I always feel like a light springy pie after the menu they have. Fried or baked fish, grilled cheese, baked potatoes or tots or fries, baked or green beans, coleslaw, and homemade rolls. All sits kind of heavy.
Pumpkin is easiest but seems like a fall pie. Lemon meringue is good but don't want to go to trouble of meringue again. Suggestions? Leaning towards peach or blueberry or apple.
And once again skipping eating at fish fry due to Friday night basketball. We're doing mac and cheese bar at home. Fish fry is $20 per family, usually make out like a bandit on that deal with my kids.
Yep, and the baby bouncing in is hilarious. And in hindsight, I might have excused myself and taken the kid outside instead of waiting for the mom, but that's nickpicking, and it doesn't matter either way.right?! she comes flying into the frame and then is all terrible ninja mode. If you look at the setup - books perfectly placed on the bed (that toddler knocks off), dad is trying to make it look like this was a fancy office and not his spare bedroom, lol.
