I am always worried about every game, but for some reason this one doesn't worry me too much. I wasn't worried about the opening round last year either. I don't worry about upsets when the underdog wants to play the same style.

Nevada is talented, especially for a 12 seed. The other downside for us is that 12 seeds, at large or auto bids have been in do or die mode for at least a few games.

I trust this team a lot. Not only because of their leadership and ability to keep their cool, but because unlike past teams they have proven they can play D and win when shots aren't falling. Playing in strange venues is going to probably result in a cold shooting night at some point. This team can lock it down and win ugly if that's the case.

Most of my apprehension comes from being the end of a run by these seniors. Then again as Monte said, the program is in great hands.

That's the plan, actually. Burton on Oliver and Young on Caroline.

I hope so, I'll be watching for that. I'll be very curious to see if Young can stay in front of Caroline when he's isolated at the top of the key and drives to the hoop. Bowie may be a better fit from that standpoint.

One of the Nevada fans was insistent that Oliver won't guard Burton at all.

I'm nervous about this match up. Nevada has 2 prospective NBA players on their roster and that can be the difference in sending us home too early. We need to plan for another trip to Hilton South. Somebody please talk me off the ledge.

How many prospective NBA players does KU have? ISU played KU even this year and KU's supporting cast and bench is substantially better than Nevada's. KU's coach isn't too shabby either so I don't see Nevada making up ground there either. Nevada isn't nearly as good as a team that ISU is playing equal to right now. Nevada could win, but it's not because they are a better team.

I hate that we're the last game of the day but I guess it's better than being the first game

I'd love to be playing now...head on out to BWW, park myself in a booth, and answer my work emails from my phone.

I'm glad it's not now but I wish there was a little happy medium. I'd really like the 6:30 slot that Purdue got.

I am glad it's today instead of tomorrow though. I wouldn't want to have to wait another day, plus this way I can just sit and watch all day tomorrow without the stress of a looming game

Anyone else prefer playing on Friday?

I like a later time at least. Gives me a chance to see how other teams are looking, and also get some perspective if there's upsets throughout the day.

3 years ago ISU played Friday night, and other 3 seeds like Duke had already gotten beat so it wouldn't have felt so bad.

The next season ISU was one of the first big upsets of Thursday so they were 'that team' on top of watching a slow motion car wreck of a game.

Random thought...

I hope none of our games comes down to a half-court shot. I've been seeing a ton of video from the past few weeks of the guys launching them at the end of practices. They. Never. Go. In. It's really awkward.

Good thing they are money from 21 feet!
