Busy day at the family reunion. Sadly there was a fatal plane crash at the Monticello airport. KCRG has started using a drone for coverage of stuff where an aerial view is nice. Problem though only that runway was closed (there is another one), drone operations are illegal within five miles of any airport....period. I contacted the reporter via twitter who gave me semi true information but failed to recognize the issue. Not her fault they are not properly trained...to an extent. Hate to be that guy but I will be contacting the FAA about it on Monday. #CoolStoryBro

ISIS and the like are already using little commercial drones as weapons in Mosel, Afghanistan and Syria. For overseas terror it's still easier and more effective to just hijack a truck or van and use it as a weapon but at some point someone is going to use one on an airliner and fly a small bomb bomb drone into a jet turbine just for the dramatic news effect of it.

Well that was a good idea gone bad, went to the south so I'd have a tailwind on the way back. went south then east (that was ok) put n a big hill (that sucked, but no walk of shame just looked terrible and was really slow going up) by then the wind shifted so I had headwinds on the way back. It was 25 hard earned miles. Also got caught in rain shower waited it out in a skidloader at a construction sight. Highlight was riding the new unopened paving back the last 6 or so miles. The headwinds sucked but it was real smooth, it was nice not to worry about any traffic issues.

Rules don't apply; we're the media.

Only agreeing because there's a fair amount in the media that believe that.

Haven't been updating, but come tomorrow morning, I will have gone a week without the "devil's drink", or however @BoxsterCy labels it. And no candy. Although, that doesn't mean I haven't had sugary drinks. (Lemonade, sweet tea) Or cookies. So, this week we'll (again, royal we) try to cut back even more on it. I might give myself a reprieve on the 4th...just a smidge. Happy I was able to do it for the week...hope I can go farther.

Watching Tour de France. Peloton is racing away at 34 mph and the breakaway leaders are humping at 37 mph. JFC. I feel such much old.

Rode 25 miles today and now washing down ibuprofen with some Coors beer. Training diet.

so we have a like a double hill in the backyard. Perfect for say, a slip n' slide. Probably needs to be like 50ft long though to cover both hills. I don't want one of those kiddie slides, those rip too easily. Where should I go hunting for such a product? Does it need to be a slip n slide or is there some kind of heavier plastic I can get somewhere?

Amazon has a 75' water slide called the Wahii. I can't get the link to post for some reason.

Any durable plastic, soap and water. Lots of soap though.

Yours is $30 vs. $150 for the Wahii one.........

this will be for kids too, well, actually primarily kids but I imagine some of our friends may wish to join.

Didn't know about the soap trick. How do you secure the sides? We used like, cinder blocks and stakes and **** when I was a kid but my siblings and I were pretty ah, nonchalant about slide-by injuries. I prefer to not cause injury to young nieces.

The one I went to last year just used stakes. Just put them all the way into the ground and make sure they stay all the way down and there shouldn't be any issue.

Go ragbrai style, load it up with beer and drop the swimsuit. A few naked, beer slides seems to get the party started.
