Got up and got the ride in early today. Thirty miles in two hours. I'm going to blame our slower speed on Mrs. Velo's sciatica and headache (mostly because she isn't here to defend herself). We had to take a Gatorade break but not a bad morning on the bike. Found some hills to whip us into shape.

Well poor timing lead to a shortened ride. It's plenty dark at 9:15pm to be on the road on a bike. Figured out I was running out of daylight so I dropped out the hill and headed to the new but still closed road. Damn I'm going to be disappointed when they finish that and open it back up. I like having my own personal highway.

Just googled alcohol % in Excelsior Big Island Blond. Answer, 5.5%. Felt like more after only two beers out at the lake this afternoon. Maybe not eating much lunch and no supper did it or maybe it was the amount of blood the vampire lab gals drew from me this morning. Damn, if I gave that much at a blood drive I'd at least get a cookie or fruit or something.

BTW, the doctor told me I need to get a girlfriend. Something about living longer or something. For reals.

Oh, and stopped on way home from doctor and bought a road bike. They didn't have girlfriends for sale but I did pick up a carbon fiber bike. Figured I needed a roadie if I am going to ride more then 20-25 mile fitness rides.
