Full Metal Jacket is like watching a couple of different movies. The boot camp portion seems to be what everyone remembers.

Full Metal Jacket: I have always thought it was like two movies, Part I Boot Camp and Part II Vietnam. Always liked both parts but initially liked Part I better. Over time I started to like Part II better, maybe because you can only watch the drill instructor so many times.

The boot camp part was great, but took a very unexpected turn. The war part just seemesd really rushed and ended abruptly. Would I watch it again? Yes. Is it high on my list of movies? Nope.

Had a long but fun day. My nieces babysitter is on vacation so today through Friday my dad is watching them. I took off today and Thurs. to help out. Today they started out doing arts and crafts, then play time, lunch, a movie, out to a park, and back home for an afternoon snack. Every day I get to see their faces it's a good day. Tomorrow the plan is to go to Story City and do the carousel.

I really never named any of my cars and feel less cool about when the gals all have names for theirs. They have these nice simple personal names. The closest I came was the old Nova that I called "Conqueror of the Minnesota Winter and Life Car when it seemed I would be driving it forever. I also had a number of profane names. Think Jules from Pulp Fiction level profanity.

Odd absence of Bob's today after hoards of them were descending on the bird feeder and crab apple yesterday. Several of them did ingest steel BB's on the 4th. There was one confirmed fatality, wasn't necessarily trying to kill any but it is a live fire exercise I am conducting here.

I don't know if this belongs in this thread, but, according to Wikipedia, we go to Southeast Missouri State in 2022. I thought going to Akron is bad, but that's worse

Heck you can post it here, but most of us in RTT like our football team, cheer for it, but don't get to concerned about it. Depending on what town in Mo. it is in, it could be a good trip to go down and eat BBQ both down and the way back (silver linings). But I would agree that trip doesn't seem like much of a resume builder.
