I wonder if this is a trick to get sellouts for the first two games as well as more money than if we only sold single game tickets to UNI an
Yeah, it does seem like putting both UNI and Iowa together for $100 doesn't make sense. Even for bad seats $50 each is very reasonable, and OSU is free/skip. I would have said pick one of those plus two late season games.

But looking at schedule... OSU is the last game. The 2nd last home game? TCU for homecoming on 29 October. Maybe that was the issue, don't want to put homecoming on discount.

But as others have said, I think it just means overall season tix sales are not great, and they want to maximize the revenue.

And try to make sure that it is sold out for UNI and EIU.

Seems like one mini-pack with UNI and two B12 teams, and then another mini-pack with Iowa and two different B12 teams would be better for attracting ISU fans. Maybe not. Just a thought.

I agree. Bundling UNI and Iowa together is just too convenient for encouraging non-ISU fans to come to the first two games, cheer for the other two teams and throw the last ticket away.

I usually give JP the benefit of the doubt, but this is just dumb. We haven't even offered single game tickets to UNI or Iowa to our season ticket holders yet, correct? But we're going to let UNI and Iowa fans buy them up first?

And we're not using the basic rules of supply and demand here at all. There is a HUGE demand for the UNI and Iowa games. We won't have any difficulty in selling out those games.

So go ahead and put a "UNI mini pack" out there for the UNI game and 2 other Big 12 games, and a "Iowa mini pack" out there for the Iowa game and 2 other Big 12 games, and sell them for $99 if you want.

If they did this exact same promotion, I think at the same time of year, 2 years ago and it went poorly for us I'm guessing they wouldn't be doing it again now.

The Iowa game should never be part of a discounted mini pack. It's pathetic.

It's not discounted, its above any of the single game ticket prices for these seats. Pollard is smart when it comes to this area. He is taking a little bit of the additional sales that would just go to stub hub or ticket brokers. We had this same discussion two years ago.

D Up is saying that if you would've bought the $175 seats for 6 games, you are paying $29 per game.
If you buy those same seats in the mini pack for 3 games, you are paying $33 per game.
Advantage D Up.

Agree. Iowa fans will pay $100+ for just the Iowa game alone, so why give them 3 games for that price?? And especially not the UNI game, because they would pay $100 for just the UNI game as well most likely.

I sure hope ticket sales aren't going so poorly that JP is this desperate already??

Is $33 above the single game ticket prices? Not for the UNI or Iowa games I bet it isn't.

Iowa fans used to give JP all kinds of crap for charging $60, $70, or more for the Iowa game alone.

Did you realize that Iowa copied JP this year and is selling an even more discounted mobile pass?

He isn't selling them a single $33 ticket. He is selling a ticket that brings in $100 in revenue. Remember these are end zone seats only and they were not full for any game last year.

They are tickets discounted from the regular single game price. They are promoted as a "deal." Please.
It chaps me that as season ticket holder I don't get deals like this - I keep getting asked to donate more and pay more for tickets. I totally get that I - and everyone else - are viewed as sources of revenue.
Our three marquee games this year are UNI, Iowa, and our highest-ranked Big 12 opponent, Okla State. It's pathetic we have to discount seats to fill up JTS.

Why? Its not like people are beating down Pollards door to get season tickets. We are not Ohio State or Oklahoma.

I agree.
Minnesota offers a three-pack for $135, or all the way up to $500, depending in the seats. You have to pick one game each, from these three groups:

Buffalo or Middle Tenn
Maryland or Michigan St or Illinois
Nebraska or Wisconsin

Notice Minnesota is not putting their two biggest games - Neb and Wisc - in the same mini-pack.

I see we have some graduates who still can't do math.... Darn indoctrination centers (see the Cave).

Anywho, A season ticket in these areas = $175. Six games equals $29 / game

Mini-pac $99 / 3 = $33 / game

$33 > $29.

Any questions?

It isn't just about cost. Many of us with the cheap season tickets have much better seats. There isn't a bad seat in Jack Trice Stadium but my $175 season tickets are better than what anyone will get with a $99 mini-pack.

Except the 6 game season tickets includes tickets to the last 3 games of the season which have basically no value.

If we're comparing apples to apples you could buy the mini-pack plus singles for the remaining 3 games for <$150.

Yeah, I have one: in your previous post, the "revenue" was most important to you (as in "He is selling a ticket that brings in $100 in revenue").
$175 > $99. Who can't do math again?

I agree with you tornado man...It just tells everyone where our football program is right now....Inability to sell tickets is not a good sign....
