Lots of good choices here, I would like to have just one of the 14 plays that would have beat KSU in the last decade. I am sure there is a couple games where ISU was completely out of the game, but it sure feels like ISU has blow more games against KSU than anyone should.

1. Play against Florida State
2. Field goal kicks I think '05 that would've sent us to the Big 12 championship game.
3. Last play ever against Nebraska in 2010.
4. Missed field goal against Alabama.
5. Getting the ball when Jeremiah George stripped it from Texas on the 1 yard line in 2012?

Football: 2005 KU game, Shaggy makes the GW FG.

Basketball: 2014 North Carolina Central, Niang doesn't break his foot.

Those are two of the three worst sports moments of my life, the other being Game 6 of the 2003 NLCS.

Some excellent (i.e., "awful") selections posted. Not an easy choice. Several involve details either prior to or after the moment. Example: The missed layup vs. That-Team in '01 was mentioned --- but that game should've even have come down to that. It was p****ed away over the course of 5 or 6 final minutes.

For me it has to be the kick Shaggy missed to clinch the Big 12 North title. I would really liked to have won something of actual relevance during my life in football.

Fake FG/pass attempt against kNU at Jack Trice at the end of the game. That was the game Rhoads figured out why most teams use a backup QB as a holder.
This 2 pt conversion is what came to my mind as it's a football forum question. But even with that said, the Niang and Blarge plays are hard to omit.

Was this the game against Misery for the North title? If so, wasn't this the game where we also drew up the great play to throw a lob to the back corner of the endzone right into a stiff wind that ended up 3 yds short due to the wind and was intercepted. I think it might have been a 2 pt conversion, but I'm not positive.

As for basketball, the blarge call definitely might have cost us a National Championship, so it's hard to beat that. I know Niang's injury could have had the same impact, but I think that's a lot more of a stretch to say IMO.

Probably wouldn't rank it #1, but don't think anyone chose it yet, but deserves mention: Two words: Cameron Dollar.

That was the first time ISU ripped my heart out of my chest.

My vote is the Nebraska fake PAT. I don't blame Kuehl though. We had to be the only team in the country that didn't use a back up QB to hold for field goals. Tiller or Bueker make that throw. Kuehl was a back up punter. There was no reason for him to be handling the ball.

I hesitate to pick any football play from the Rhoads era, if only because I don't think any one play going differently changes how his tenure ended. If anything, you change any of those outcomes and maybe Rhoads is still here trying to get over the hump and we missed on Matt Campbell.

Winning the OT coin toss and picking to go on offense in the 1996 Wyoming game. 1st OT game with the new alternating possession from the 25yd line rule. Lost 41-38 in OT

2009 K-State game at Arrowhead. Score TD with 0:30 left in 4Q and then have PAT blocked that would have tied game...

Remember my wife asking why I was so stressed as we lined up for the PAT since it should be a gimme for OT. Now she understands that nothing is a given for ISU fans until the clock reads 0:00

I was going to click the dislike button, but you don't deserve that on your account. I did want to thank you for making me dredge that up from whatever depths I'd buried it in. Grrr.
