Cyclones.tv. Did well, just annoyed of the same commericals. I dont know how many times I can learn about a farmer taking pride in his corn because he may eat corn chips and tortillas. 1st world probz.

I didn't get to my computer until the 4th, but had a few issues where it would like randomly repeat 4 second blurbs that it just played. Other than that, was good as usual.

Well I may be able to catch the movie once it comes to DVD. ;)

She mentioned this morning she wonders how many freshmen will drop volleyball next year. If some do, no big deal--there are tons out. And yes, totally different coach for JV and varsity/varsity assistant. I was really ticked because of the lack of communication, but found out this morning she had our email wrong on her distribution list so hopefully got that sorted out. Still in 2 places, including an email yesterday from the varsity coach, it said the bus left this morning at 7:30. In her email that I never saw it said the bus left at 7:15 and they needed to be there by 7:10. Good thing daughter gets the email, too. And Friday practice was at 6:15 according to the calendar but supposedly she told the girls after their games Thu they needed to be there at 6am because they needed the extra 15min of practice. That message never got to me. Daughter would have been there about then anyway but her ride was 15min late and I ended up running her up there still thinking practice was at 6:15.

Ugh. The freshman basketball coach only wanted to communicate via text. We never let our kids get a cell phone until they are 16 and can drive on their own cause we are the mean parents. One of son's friends would call our house phone to relay messages even if coach texted at 2:00 a.m.

Although we DID get some oh-dark-ridonkulous calls cancelling winter wrestling weigh-ins, I am eternally grateful that our kids grew up pre-cellphones, because we would have been those mean parents as well.
Our seats last night were in front of a family with a daughter who was probably middle school, definitely not high school yet, and a son who was around 10. The daughter was in a major early game argument with her mother about putting her cell phone away, because she simply "couldn't ignore" texts from her friends. Yes, those were her words.

Me wanting to say to mom: a) turn her phone off & put it in your purse - b) if not a then leave the phone in the car - c) if not b, then leave the phone at home - d) if not c, then don't let her have her own phone. Instead, we got to listen to 15-20 minutes of sniping. Boo that! And if she doesn't get her addiction under control, she is going to be a danger to others when she starts driving.
/mini rant

The son cracked me up. He was crazy about Mike Warren, but couldn't seem to figure out that the #2 jersey on offense was Warren. Every play we made he was saying "was that Mikey? Was it?" and if his mom said yes, he was all "Yay Mikey - he's our best player!"

My dad brought his old phone down for our 12yr old to use (still no phone service yet, she just uses it at home on wi fi for games and a few other things.) His ISU case was still on it, so I ordered her a different case. The new case had a cardboard insert that looked like an iPhone screen. So now the 4yr old has a "phone"--ISU case plus the cardboard insert. ;) She has to follow the same phone rules as big sisters--no phones at the dinner table, no phones in your room overnight. :D

We started calling them "live replays" at Sensers. Weird, as the audio kept going but for the most part it had a good HD signal feed to the big TV's. Good eye by James as he noted at the bottom of a screen a low battery symbol. Had to remind the Senser's folks to plug in their laptop. As far as the game went I was a little underwhelmed. Going to play the early season "improve so much between games one and two" card.

Is there plans yet for the Iowa game?

I'm thinking I need to make a special trip to HyVee convenience for coffee. Tea isn't going to cut it for me today. Whether or not a donut makes it back with me...we'll see.

Yes, did get donut. Although was creme filled, not jelly filled as I hoped.

Coffee to cream ratio spot on. Happy about that.

I suppose I should yield to your superior knowledge of the times and customs recalled by Dumas. I mean, you lived through it, so how can I compete with that?

Damn, I'm only 34!

Sorry, I was trying for a quick reply on my phone and it is a pain in the ass to do them on there. I think we all know who on this board is old enough to have lived in the era of the musketeers.
