FILs foot is all green and purple but he refuses to go to the Dr because he is afraid they will make him take time off work to heal. Apparently it has been this way for a week or two and it hurts bad enough that he can't help me pick up a swingset on Tuesday or put it up on Saturday but by God he will still be working 80+ hours this week at two jobs with 95% of the time on his feet.

@GTO have you seen Train to Busan yet? It's a Korean subtitled horror movie. I thought I was getting into a campy zombie flick, but holy ****, it ended up being really good. Highly reccomended. Was emotionally pulling me all over the place.
Yep. Watched about a year ago when it was on limited release. Really good movie and pretty unexpected ending.

That's exactly what I said last night. Not to mention the possibility of a blood clot and having extremely serious ramifications. My MIL was supposedly going to force him (drive him) to an urgent care today to get it checked out but we have not heard anything.

As they were leaving last night my MIL said he is afraid he would be told he can't work for two weeks and I just responded with "vacation or short term disability...there is a reason they are called benefits." Didn't hear anything

Note: I asked MrsWx if I was being rude or overly snarky and she didn't think so.

Busy day today. Replaced a ceiling fan and working on replacing the cartridge on 2 bathroom faucets. Ceiling fan is up and running, but the first faucet did not go as planned. Cartridge was actually fine, but the handle part that stops it from over-turning appears to have broken with age. Can't find the same model handle anywhere, since it appears to have been discontinued.

On to the next faucet.

Son was groomsman yesterday for fifth wedding in three months Saturday. That's a lot of tux money. One more before the year is out.

One of his younger brothers asked how he's going to put all these people in his own wedding someday. He responded he's got enough groomsmen just with brothers, just needs a bride and he's good to go lol. And swears he will pay for the tuxes himself.

For my wedding we had the groomsmen wear suits instead of tuxes since most of the guys could use another suit. Well anyways my father in law after offered to pay for all of the suits, but my wife asked if he was going to pay for all of the bridesmaids' dresses. So in the end my FIL did not pay for suits.

Is it appropriate to email a professor and tell them how valuable you found their class?

Totally. Might make their day.

The only way I'd say no would be for odd circumstances, like:

1. "I'm just writing today to say that my anonymous eval remarks were too kind. You suck and fail in every way."

2. "Thanks for your class. I met my meth connection and tons of chicks. Thanks dude."

Thought I was being helpful, guess I will stop doing that.

I see you left off, I thought you were smokin hot and since you are no longer my instructor, how about a few drinks?

Positively haha

Then if it's positively, I would say go for it since to me I would probably considered that a thank you. Also you may make your professor's day since I don't think they get those type of messages quite that often. Not to mention, if you want to use that professor as a reference one day it may not hurt to build up that relationship.

Well, some don't. Some of us consider it routine.

There needs to be a swelled-head response for this one.

I need to know to if you have gotten this message before:

Dear CycloneErik,

Wow, what more can I say? The way you make history come alive is incredible. Some professors can really drone on and on, but not you! I could listen to you lecture about the Louisiana Purchase for eight days a week. Every class I was simply enthralled by your love of history, and I could feel the passion radiate from you when you stand in front of the class. Thanks for being the single greatest professor I have ever had.

Sincerely,
Student sitting in row 3, seat 7

Really close, but without the seat location.
I was having fun with the cocky answer there a moment ago, but evals tend to have a lot of comments like that.
