My wife and I paid for tux rental and brides maid dresses. Just a personal decision, but we figured why should they have to drop the cash when we asked them to be in the wedding.

Same. I already had a butt ugly closet of bridesmaids dresses I had paid for but never worn again, except the one from my sister's wedding. That was a great dress I wore all through college and sister paid for it.

I'm too lazy to make cooked salsa, although I probably should, as garden has way too many tomatoes and jalapenos still. Have made probably a couple dozen batches of fresh salsa this year, and I triple the recipe each time. Son took a batch to airbnb for the wedding, and they ate it all after the rehearsal dinner while playing poker and drinking beer. I raised an eyebrow at this and he said the rehearsal dinner food was fairly awful. And they killed the scotcheroos I sent for breakfast, just in case the wedding food was bad too..

I'll bet you could freeze that.

Has it ever been determined what the difference is between Scotcheroos and other, similar foods. Is it that Scotcheroos are made with Rice Crispies but Special K bars are made with Special K? Is it simply because they are made in Iowa that they are called Scotcheroos? If so, is Scotcheroos the Iowa equivalent of Duck Duck Gray Duck. Ugh. It hurts just to type that.

On that note, my wife (though far from being a good cook) makes great Special K bars. Being that her first name starts with a J they have become known as Special J bars.

Not exactly sure.

Wife canned hers. Her folks never had a garden, great farm folks huh? So I had to teach her how to can stuff since I had to do that after I finished field work at night and listen to a couple hundred pops as I tried to fall asleep.

And reading that bolded part reminded me that I need to go to the Mucky Duck soon for fish and chips.

The vixen is a salsa machine. I'm betting she did at least 24 quarts last year, and she cans it all. It keeps a l-o-o-o-o-n-g time, and it's prefect for football games. Plus we give lots away to family and friends and co-workers.

I've thought about that or just freezing the tomatoes. I don't have a ton of freezer room. We get a quarter beef from a farmer friend.
Tomatoes can be canned like fruit (no pressure cooker required) because of the acid content. Pretty easy - I used to do it all the time in our early years. You can also dry them in a food dehydrator, but I've never really liked the texture after you re-hydrate them.

You think that's bad.....in the week leading up to the ISU/EIU game, I saw a fat guy wearing a T-shirt that said "You can't spell Dicksucker without ISU". I took a pic in case no one believed me. I'd post it here but the mods might get upset.
Now wait a minute - did this not FIRST say "head" instead of "sucker"? That was why I wanted to see it...because it wouldn't have had the "SU" part.

I feel cheated.

Wherever I go, there I am.
Welp. Tom Petty is free falling now...
He's had his last dance with Mary Jane.

You and I will meet again
When we're least expecting it
One day in some far off place
I will recognize your face
I won't say good-bye my friend
For you and I will meet again
I heard you singing to no one
I saw you dancing all alone
One day you belonged to me
Next day I just wouldn't know
Someday all the rules will bend
And you and I will meet again
I've got a feeling
I've got a feeling so strong
Maybe someday our paths will cross
A red-winged hawk is circling
The blacktop stretches out for days
How could I get so close to you
And still feel so far away?
I hear a vo ice come on the wind
Sayin' you and I will meet again
I don't know how, I don't know when
But you and I will meet again

I saw him in concert nearly 30 years ago at Hilton. There was one helluva haze in that place that night. Talk about you basic contact high...

That much smoke would give me an asthma attack.
Let's just say it wasn't from cigarettes...

I didn't start running into the breathing issues until my late 40s, from late blooming allergies. Back then it wasn't really an issue for me. Concerts were definitely cloudier 25-30+ years ago.
