What's this? Park fails a drug test the week of potentially the toughest opponent we'll play all year? Ohhh if this ends up being true....
I get that, but wasn't sure if he was serious or just running with the joke. And his response didn't exactly give me any clarification hahaBack around 2012 or so (before the bottom fell out on the CPR era), a poster started a thread about football recruiting and posed the question, "Has CPR run out of gas?" The poster was mostly mocked because we were all a bunch of optimisitc idiots, but they ended up being right. Recruiting took a nosedive and everything started falling apart not long after that. "Out of gas" has been a long running joke since then.
The rational side of me (10%) says it's a no big deal, college kid sort of thing, and he'll be back and better than ever next week.
The Cyclone fan in me (90%) says he'll go complete dumpster fire and never play again.
No one knows what it means but it's provocative, it gets the people going!
That's a really bad analogy. Cutliffe has won a lot of big games at Duke and is highly respected nationally. He's rebuilt that program into a solid P5 team.
On the plus side (I'm reaching a bit, bear with me) the offensive game plan will likely include more run plays and short throws. Limiting Kempt or Zeb's time to think in this situation may create an interesting shake-up. We could see some guys like Ryen, Jones, and Montgomery get involved more with the hopes of them beating their initial defender and then creating in space.
There are many times Montgomery is the train.you all act like it makes a difference who starts at QB...this will be a slow steady crushing with limited play calling beyond...Montgomery left...Warren right...Montgomery right...Warren left...I feel terrible for the RBs...they know the train they are about to collide with and can't get out of the way
Dammit, we light dumpsters of fire. We aren't hillbillies in West Virginia.
Disagree. Players can always improve mechanics and it isn't like he is a fifth year SRIf true, he certainly won’t be taking practice snaps. Those will go towards getting the other guys ready to play.
He’s not going to magically fix his mechanics mid season during a week he takes off. I think that’s a bit of a misnomer anyway. Quite frankly given his age I think he mostly is what he is at this point.
What have you seen from Noland that makes you think he's the better option? Because he's higher rated? You might be in over your head..
The key is the bolded. In the big scheme of war and peace, it does make no difference.
But you, like me, are on a chat board simply reading about Iowa State athletics for fun.
So is he officially suspended or just a rumor yet? If official, change the title, if a rumor and it is Friday, then something needs to be clarified
He cans still spring on a different QB with different skills since OU will have absolutely no film on Kempt and Noland.Like many people have posted, I don't think it matters who will be the starting QB against the Sooners.
If this is true, HOWEVER....
Why would you post this? Perhaps, just perhaps, Campbell wanted OU to keep practicing as if Park was the starting QB. Then he could spring on a different starting QB with maybe different skill sets as Park on game day -- just a little confusion to gain some sort of an edge.
Our "need to know" and you wanting to tout what you know does not trump Campbell's coaching strategy for a big game.
Please tell me you are not in the military where "loose lips, sink ships". And, if I were your boss, I would worry that you are giving away company secrets.
