I disagree. We don't look like anything. There is literally nothing to wave at at Jack Trice, unless we're waiving to Woody in the press box. The fact that they even think it's a good idea is bizarre to me.

I get why Michigan State did it when they were playing Iowa (since many in the Children's hospital were probably watching on TV) but I don't see the resemblance of us doing it besides being in the same state as the hospital. Good idea by Hawkeye Heaven but it would look like a cluster if we attempted it Saturday.

I don't think it's a bad idea. After all, it's about children in a children's hospital, not about Hawkeye Heaven or even the U of I football program. That said, it would take some effort from ISU to coordinate a live feed to the U of I hospital.

Not sure why people are getting up in arms about this.

It's a trap. I don't know how or why but it's a trap.

It is most definitely a trap! We do it and their fans will say we're attention seeking imitators. We don't do it and we're the bad guy that hates sick kids. It's lose-lose and that's exactly the type of thing HH goes for. Controversy and spectacle. If it was their idea good for them, but one great idea doesn't change the fact that their site is a cesspool most of the time.

The relentless irrational ridicule of ISU for having a great agriculture school while wearing ANF on the helmets does have me thinking this is just a way for their fans to to attack and B**** at ISU for something else completely irrational. It's a pretty ridiculous position they've clung to for nearly 40 years mocking and honoring farmers at the same time.

Hope we give it a try at their request, but I'm 99.99999% sure it will be ridiculed or complained about by their fans regardless of how little or how much we participate.

I really don't think it's a trap. Just don't do it, and if any Hawks criticize you for not waving to the kids they'll look like a moron.

When did we all get so goddamn sentimental over symbolic gestures?

Kinda putting us into a trap. If anybody with ISU says no, Then we look like ******** because... Kids. If we do it, then we are either copying them or just doing what big brother told us to.

This was my thought as well..

Just because a child is in the hospital in Iowa City doesn't mean they are a Hawk fan. I do remember seeing some Cardinal and Gold in there during one of the visits. I'm sure they wouldn't mind seeing their team wave at them too. (Mich St. did it and Game Day did it a couple weeks ago as well)

I thought it was cool that Mich St. did it when they hosted the hawks, and I'd be all for it the next time they come to town, but this just seems a bit forced. I don't feel like there were any ulterior motives behind it, but they are really excited about a great thing they are able to do.

I'd buy the fundraising wave t-shirt before waving to thin air on Saturday. http://cbs2iowa.com/news/local/iowa-hawkeye-wave-sparks-wardrobe-movement
