I just remember the game forum during the UNI game last year where I was telling some of the fans to give Campbell time when they were throwing him under the bus during the first game. I agree that we need to pay whatever it takes to keep him at ISU. I think only one program will be able to take him away where money won't matter - Ohio State. As long as Urban Meyer stays there for 10-12 years, we need to keep Campbell at ISU during that time too.

This. Break the bank. You have 6 years till conference realignment starts again. ISU needs to be playing their best and a coaching change would be a dagger. You pay him and his assistants whatever you can afford and hope it's good enough.
This.
It is VITAL we are playing our best football before conference alignment comes rolling along. Because I don't see Des Moines increasing their population to 1,000,000 people, we better entice someone with good football play.

As long as Urban Meyer sticks around, he is not going anywhere

Hopefully Urban will not punch anyone this bowl season
Who really knows. He did quit at Florida and spent 2 years away from football. I wouldn't be surprised if he just decides to retire even at 53. We didn't expect Bob Stoops to quit either in his 50s.

This program needs to be nationally relevant by 2022 ish...JP at end of year after the last minute of last game of this season you come up with $3.5-$4 mil a year contract for 5-6 years..Period. Matt Campbell is 37..he can spend another 4-5 years winning the big 12 at ISU then move on to Ohio State or wherever.
yep,yep,yep

Another good thing I saw yesterday was his excitement and exuberance on the field. I don't think you keep that same feeling at a blueblood. ISU fans truly are world class and I hope that is worth something to him. He should be given credit for what he has overcome at ISU. It is like Frank Sinatra said, if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.

On the other hand, the Big 10 has proven that they actually prefer to add crappy FB programs. I’m sure KU is a shoe in.

Heacock has to be a front runner for Assistant of the year. Campbell has done a great job but whatever Heacock is doing to make this defense as good/great as it is baffles me. He has taken a front 7 from nobodies to everyone's favorite defense. Mac and PR both, I think, were good coaches but they couldn't find assistants that were worth a crap. Campbell needs to lock these guys down as much as we need to lock Campbell down. Just look to TOE and see what keeping assistants means to a program.

If we can keep on winning the rest of our games, he will win EVERYTHING from Big 12 COY, National COY, Nobel Prize, Grammy Awards, Country Music Awards, JD Powers Vehicle of the Year. Just named it......

They certainly didn't add Rutgers for their lousy football. They picked them for those millions upon millions of tv sets that are in that crappy football team's market.

Rutgers is the only team the B1G wishes they could hit the reset button on...
