I legitimately don’t understand stuff like this. Outside of Iowa State I just don’t watch college football because it is a complete joke. You have stuff like this and it is indefensible. Then you have stuff like the OSU and KState games and you wonder why people don’t want to watch anymore.
How could you not pick Lanning? He put up some great stats in the most diverse positions against top competition. Barkley feasted on weak teams.

In other breaking news, it's been re-named the "Paul Hornung Name Recognition Award."
Exactly, I was going to say that. Why not just announce that Mayfield won the Heisman, because that's what this means. But they don't want to let the cat out of the bag, like we don't already know. What a bunch of BS, another meaningless award given to the player from the biggest name program available.

We shouldn't be surprised by this at all. If Barkley was at Utah State doing the same thing with the same numbers he wouldn't have even been on the ballot. It is amazing that the college FB media endlessly kisses up to the Big 10, when they are probably the worst P5 conference in terms of actual athletics.
Clearly there are people voting on this award that had no clue what the actual award was for. Also, a couple of those games that got away from ISU would have helped keep Lanning's name in the news. Kind of sad that individual awards are alway determined by who you play for.

No. If you read what we were voting for the fan vote gets 1 vote. 17 or 18 journalist get the rest.
