Different release to the national media. Much more contrite there. Good luck to the man in graduating and getting into another program.

And of course our local media couldn't have just left it like this article did, but rather gave him a spring board for ...well, you know. Yes, I get it. Its their job. Same with Hines at first tweeting Lindell's comments only partially about the UNI farm guys.

I assume he did and just ran with the Park side of the story because it will get more clicks.

Didn't a release mention that Campbell found out about the transfer desire through a DMRegister report? If that's true, is that normal for a paper to print such a thing without checking with a coaching staff first? Idk, seems tacky.

Wish him well. Hope he someday matures and gets the help he needs but it needs to start with him. At least for his child's sake.

If this were his first time, I would be upset with him. He obviously has a lot of personal issues that keep him from playing big time football. I don't know anything about Park personally, but it seems a pattern is emerging here.

I hope he doesn't think things will magically get better somewhere else and hope he finds some help with his personal issues.

no matter how long or far you run from your problems they'll always be waiting for you.

So he has no sense of humor. Got it.
You may have been joking but there are others that aren’t. Those people need to realize not everyone is like them. I didn’t mean to target you just point out there was some overly negative stuff even if it was mostly positive.

It was obvious months ago that we were a better team on the field without him. Now it is clear we are better without him off the field as well. Good riddance.

It's weird, but I never looked at it that way at the time, even when we won all four October games. Meaning, that it was a blessing in disguise that we had a new quarterback. For some reason it never crossed my mind. Thought it was just Campbell's 'process' taking effect and details by the team were being executed. Maybe this is where his comments are stemming from, that he was hearing 'noise' that we started winning when he was gone. Either way, it would be a natural reaction for fans to think that way, regardless if it was a coincidence or if it was a big factor. He still shouldn't have spewed his so-called fan disloyalty comments. (Now...having said that, I'm curious, do most of you actually believe the qb change was instrumental in our success, or was it just a gutsy team coming into their own? SIAP)

The full article ends with Park saying that Kempt seeking a medical redshirt got him thinking about transferring because he (Park) didn't think they were going to bring him (Park) back.

Clearly Park’s not familiar with the NCAA. I hope that’s not true.

Yeah, that's not a good look for Tommy.

It's one thing to get a good scoop, but to run with it without going to people in the program with the incendiary things Park said strikes me as unprofessional.

I wonder what Campbell thought when he read it.

With Twitter, I have to imagine its important to be the first one to get the story out, so waiting for ISU to call you back for comment isn't easy. Regardless, the story was updated once Campbell spoke.

Way up there
Can someone paraphrase the Lanning and Waggoner tweets. I am curious why I cant read the tweet @ChrisMWilliams

Waggoner-We have the best fans in the country who always make Saturday’s special! You’ve NEVER abandoned us for a second. This senior year has been special because of your support

Lanning-You can't disrespect the fans that are loyal to everyone no matter what the circumstances are

Morrisey-narcissism and ones own selfish actions can be a personal downfall. The team is / was / and will be way better off without that negativity. Keep leading young buck!

Wish him good luck as he plans to transfer. Calls out ISU fans for turning on him. “ISU is supposed to be the most loyal fan base and we’re the first ones to turn on me. “

I don't agree with his comment that fans turned on him at least based on what I've seen on this website. A vast majority of posts I read wished him well and wanted him to get better ahead of coming back and being our QB. I'm sure there were some who were negative but I certainly would not say that would be a basis for saying the fans as a whole turned on him.

It sounds like Park's remarks have kind of ticked off the players

My question about the original Register article is why wasn’t the quote about Kempt returning in it. Completely changes the way situation and reasons from Campbell and ISU fans not supporting him to not sure if he would even play.

I think there was a lot going on behind the scenes with him, probably since the very beginning. There is always a lot more going on with a team that no one knows about. Not the press, and none of us. That seemed more clear by the team tweets. I hope he ends up on his feet. The backlash from his is him being a kid who screwed up and he's frustrated. Reaction was to blame everyone else (which was wrong). School, football and a kid would be a lot for anyone. Some do well under those circumstances, some don't.
At this point, his decision is probably best for everyone. Thankful for Kyle Kempt and excited for Zeb. This is all part of CMC's process, which will hopefully get us to a good place.
Alright, enough of that ranting. :)

I understand, but I have a problem with everyone pointing at a message board as the reason for his comments. I'm not sure I even believe that message boards is what he has a problem with, but if it is then he won't be able to play anywhere that is high profile in any way. I guarantee you it will be as bad or worse anyplace else. No fan base will look good when looking at the lowest common denominator that is social media.

I wouldn't say I "turned" on him but I did express my opinion on CF that I didn't think he'd come back after his suspension. So maybe his comment is directed at me.

Sorry guys.
