The last thing I read said that Brase is out for tonight and iffy for Texas, Talley is definitely out for both and Long is a game-time decision. I think Long would like to play based on comments, but it was supposed to depend on how he felt in practice this week.

Edit: I guess there is a possibility of seeing Brase tonight. That would be a huge help.

It'll be interesting to see if Brase dresses for the game solely as an emergency option for Prohm. I doubt it, though. It'd be great to have him available but if there's a chance of him aggravating the ankle injury and missing even more time then I'd rather see him sit out until he's 100% good to go.

We know the guard play will be there. This game rides on the available bigs - Young, Lard and Beverly - being active while staying out of foul trouble.

Definitely.

If Brase is still "iffy," Iprefer to take our chances with 7-rotation and give 3 days' healing for possible re-entry vs. Texas. A poison-picking situation. Slightly more confident of a squeak-by vs. KSU, compared to vs. Texas.

Big game. Rough that we're missing some key depth. It will be big if Jakolby can at least provide spot minutes to give the guys a blow and keep them out of foul trouble. Hard to ask more from him than that with all the time missed.

If only one of them can play, I prefer it be Hans. More dependable/sound at this point.

Just noticed that ksu's RPI is 124. I didn't think it was that bad. We need to win this game.

Yes, it's unimpressive resume. Close loss to Arizona State won't hurt whatsoever, but K-State's body of work is mostly taking care of business vs. weak teams.

Edit: To be fair, ISU's resume has a lot of that, too.

If we're going to keep the great momentum going, and any hope of a tourney bid, we really need to win tonight and Monday vs. Texas. There are a lot of factors conspiring against the Clones though: the crowd is going to be quiet and likely not intimidating to the opposition due to Christmas Break and the students being gone (I really wish the AD would change this policy), and if Brase and Long are out, we'll be playing extremely thin. Brase also adds a much needed dimension as a big guy that we don't really have in any other big.

I think it's a coin flip if Brase and Long play; if they don't play, KSU has to be the favorite. Lard will likely get in foul trouble and just one guy going down will spell huge trouble. I have been amazed at how well Prohm has the guys playing this year, but I still must say how disappointing it was that they missed on so many transfers or recruits last year. They are really walking a thin line when they only have 10 scholarship eligible players coming into the year. You'd have to plan as a coach that you're going to lose one or two during the year due to injuries, attrition, etc., right? Oh well; I'm sure they gave it their best effort.

Let's go State and keep up the amazing results!

Brase should play. That ankle will hurt for the rest of year. Shave his ankle and tape it tight without prewrap. He will be fine once it loosens up. I've sprained my ankle bad and worked 3 days later on a roof.

Weber is a perfect fit for KSU.

KSU is UNI 2.0- a slightly better school with a little more talent in basketball and football. I don’t think anyone looks at their roster and thinks we’re outmanned or they have more raw talent, particularly if we’re at full strength. But KSU will play hard, if not well, and if we don’t match them fundamentally, we’ll lose imo.
