Had to buy a heavy coat for this trip. I can get away with a sweater and medium windbreaker in Houston. For 20s, it wouldn't cut it.

At airport gate. Seeing a bunch of ISU fans.

Meant to like your comment instead of agreeing to it. Glad to hear ISU fans are flocking to Memphis. Stay warm and yell loud!

Glad to see it's not expected to rain or snow anymore. I can handle the cold weather, but the minute it gets wet is when it's no fun (2012 comes to mind).

Sure thing ass hat. Family vacation at Daytona versus Memphis. Real hard decision

Enjoy the cold

Suggest that if you really are in FL on a family vacation, you should chill and enjoy your family instead of obsessing on CF about your snark comments on Memphis weather.

I get around
As a side note Weather Channel listing a high of 39 Saturday.
Agree. Most of the other forecasters are predicting the high to be 39-40 degrees with sunny skies and light wind. With that sun it will feel warmer than the actual air temperature. I may have to ventilate to keep from over-heating!

Anyone who came down here for great weather didn't really think it through. The event is the reason to be in Memphis. Cyclone fans all gathered in a city which has a great and central entertainment area and that loves to show off for it's bowl game. Weather would simply be an add-on.

You guys ripped on me first. Whatever

Although it's not ideal weather, the bowl game feels great for the fans, the attendees, the program, the players. It just happens to be 'football weather'.

For Daytona--been all over Florida but not in Daytona since I was young, in the 1980's--when every beachside hotel was a worn out, run-down, dump. I hope it's changed;)

Typical fair weather fan. Also one that probably shows up at a game 15 minutes before and complains why he can't find a parking spot.

Thanks!
And you enjoy endless lines, crappy food and all the loveliness of a tourist town built in the middle of swamp land they couldn't give away.
Yea Mickey Mouse town!

Orlando sucks. Enjoy.

Memphis in a blizzard > Orlando

And LOL at you for trying make yourself feel better because you dropped a ****load of money by guessing the wrong bowl game!
Gonna burn some when someone snaps a photo of you on the Flying Dumbo ride....

Yea, I can't imagine why CyForPresident got defensive. Some of you are not very self aware.

Go crawl back into your hole at HN.

He came in here first trying to rub it into everyone's faces that he's in warm Orlando instead of partying with Cyclone fans in Memphis for the bowl game. Sorry, that's not going to work on Cyclone Fanatic. 95% of us are going because we're supporting Iowa State, weather be damned.

His comment, to me at least, was lighthearted and innocuous. People then freaked out on him and essentially implied he was a crappy fan because he was going on a family vacation that was almost certainly planned prior to the bowl game announcement. He wasn't saying anything negative about other ISU fans or even the bowl game itself. Lighten up, bruv.

I think we all agree with CyForPresident that a warmer bowl destination would have been preferable. That was not an option, however, so there was no reason to dis Memphis.

Hoping for a followup on the amazing Orlando weather. 55 degrees and rainy during Citrus Bowl today, Jan 1?

Makes for a lovely day @ DisneyWorld. I assume your whole family stayed inside in the hotel pool.....:(

Memphis weather was better for watching a game than it was in Orlando today IMO.

Interesting that after all the griping, Orlando weather turned out to be not so nice.

Well, to be fair, the day of the Camping World Bowl on Thursday it was Sunny and in the mid-70's in Orlando. Memphis was a great time also, but the gameday weather was definitely better for the Camping World Bowl. Yesterday, not so much.

I'm glad this thread came along and at the last minute someone took a solid grip on worst fan of 2017. Great job CyforPrez!

The weather was cold but I've sat through far worse. We beat a ranked team on a Saturday morning broadcast nationwide on network tv. Worked out well for ISU!

CyforPrez worst ISU fan of 2017 and Tuberville for worst announcer doing an ISU football game in 2017.

Living and traveling to Florida over the years, Orlando's central location is the cutoff for nice weather in Dec/Jan down there. I would wait till at least March to vacation in Central Florida.

That said, I see on Wed Jan 3, Twitter was highlighting Florida's "winter" weather today, as Orlando was going to be a balmy 45 w/ rain, and 16 mph winds. 'CyforPrez: and family might want to seek emergency shelter

Unless you're donning one of the Seven Dwarfs costumes while cruising around the Magic Kingdom, you're gonna freeze your azz off today:(
