I want Kempt back but it will only add to the confusion of however the NCAA decides whatever it is they do.

I love Kempt. And I get that he had different coaches at every school he went to. But he also chose to go to three different schools.

Since Nebraska got away with it, I feel like they have to give it to Kempt. But at the same time, what a ******** reason, in my mind, for a player to get an extra year.

Just curious, what did you mean by "since Nebraska got away with it" ? Not familiar with their scenario.

Tanner Lee signed with Tulane, redshirted his first year, started his freshman and sophomore year, then transferred to Nebraska because Tulane got a new coach. He sat out a year, then Nebraska asked if he could have one more year of eligibility because his reason for transferring was because he couldn't adjust to the coaching change at Tulane.

Touche. I think the excitement going into August if we have them both back would be unmatched.

Year 3 in the program, year 2 and 3 for the huge core of returning players and CONSISTENT coaching of schemes - I'm confident that whomever starts at whatever position will have earned it and the guys running with the 2s will be vocal supporters of the program and will continue to work to make themselves and the team better.

This was a goofy thread and I think we've lost sight of the fact this team will be better next year for so many reasons. Kyle with another year, Zeb with another year, the OL, etc... Nothing but upside!

Well, now you done gone and did it. If Kempt doesn't get a similar favorable outcome, it will bring out the NCAA doesn't like us crowd. lol

Horse pooooop. Do you NOT think he's limited? Do you NOT think Lazard saved him few times? Do you NOT think he threw some ducks? Do you NOT think Lazard dropped some passes? Lanning missed some tackles? The OL missed blocks, the DBs missed assignments, the coaches made bad play calls, the students didn't how up, the Neil Diamond song was off key?

This is a team game and when things are clicking the team is able to compensate to the shortcomings of EACH AND EVERY PLAYER BECAUSE EACH AND EVERY PLAYER HAS SHORTCOMINGS.

Kyle can't run fast enough to slide. He's not a mobile QB. Tell me what I just said because I THINK what you THINK I'm saying is Kyle sucks.

Kyle - as part of the team - gave us an amazing season. But if you think Kyle is the only answer and the staff thinks nobody will be better than kyle and the offense we saw last year was exactly the offense this staff wanted to see you have some of that horse poooop noted above lodged between you ears.

Find one poster saying they don't want Kyle back - not some "back handed complement" crap. Hell find 2 posters saying that. It doesn't matter - the staff will find the best players and put them in the best situations and create the best schemes for us to win. If it's with Kyle and we're winning then we're winning. If Zeb beats him out and Kyle is the #2 and we're winning it still means we're winning.

This program and this staff is about growth and development. if you DON'T think there should be a QB competition if Kyle is granted another year, you're probably a guy who pines away for your high school days is is frightened of change.

You're a solution in search of a problem. You're responding to a statement nobody made. Maybe you're using a little too much of your screen name.
When have I ever said anyone don’t want Kempt back? Show me a post that I said that. I just simply pointed out that some posters under-appreciate Kempt, give back-handed complements, focusing on his weaknesses rathther strengths, and fail to acknowledge what he has accomplished this season

The NCAA has historically not liked ISU or any other non-blue blood programs. Sorry, but you don't have to look too hard to see programs like UNC, ND, OU, USC, Penn State etc, that have done things that would have gotten lesser programs in serious trouble, see little or no penalty.

I never trust the NCAA when it comes to ISU. Scam Newton got over $150K at Auburn and no penalty or real investigation. A foster family buys pants and gives Yuri Hubalik an old station wagon and he is suspended for extra benefits! A joke of an organization and not banking on them doing anything for the Clones.

To tell you the truth, I've felt the same on numerous occasions. The 'lol' at the end of my post was admitting I fall right into the same crowd.

Knowing how the NCAA treats ISU, they will probably clear Kempt for another year, only to take it back halfway through summer camp.

Wrong...they'll deny Kempt & rule 3 others starters ineligible for taking a stick of gum from a stranger in a NCAA undercover sting operation.

Texas, OU, and TCU will all get 5 extra scholarships to help offset the criminal behavior of Iowa State Football. KU will get an extra 2 scholarships in MBB.

Did anyone else notice that some of Noland's passes fluttered against Baylor? He also completed only 50% of his passes against Baylor which has a pathetic pass defense (ranked 114th in the nation). And ISU scored only 23 points against Baylor.

Not saying this to bash Noland, but to show that he might not be ready to be the starter. I do think Noland has a bright future. He is similar to Park in terms of skill set, but he seems to be much more of a competitor.

But if you asked me to choose between Noland and Kempt, I would choose Kempt without blinking. Whatever Kempt lacks in strength or speed, he more than makes up for with his accuracy and decision making. He puts the ball in the perfect spot on almost every throw. When people say that Lazard bailed out Kempt against Memphis, they are missing the mark. Lazard made good adjustments on balls that were thrown in an area where only Lazard could catch the ball. They weren't in danger of being intercepted, and neither was the pass that Lazard caught off Murdock's finger tips. Yes some of Kempt's passes into the wind fluttered but that happens in the NFL too. I saw plenty of ducks flying in the Falcons - Eagles game yesterday.
Yeah the game that had 20+mph sustained winds (20-40) during the game. You have people complaining about the winds at the liberty bowl when they were only like 15 mph. If conditions against Memphis were bad for passing then conditions in that Baylor game were downright atrocious.
