So how far do you have to go to fall off the edge of the earth, and why don't any of these geniuses form an expedition to prove their theory?

Antarctica is at the edge and keeps everything "contained." As far as expeditions, you know what happened to Scott and his team!

:) So hypothetically, if one kept traveling through Antarctica you would eventually fall into space?...or what does the earth rest on?

That's why the Arctic is at the center. Otherwise submarines going under the North Pole would simply sail off into space!

I mean if you believe that submarines exist and all.

So do they think the moon and the other planets are flat as well? And do they counter Pythagoras and his experiment (that shadows cast by objects of equal heights at two different locations are different lengths at the same time of the day, getting longer as you travel further from the equator)?

And of course the conference was held in South Carolina, where better than the south to reject actual science?

I just figured this was one of those things that make you the ultimate hipster. Similar to drinking Old Style. You know it sucks, but you can't help but be different. That's how I look at this. They know it isn't true, but they can't help themselves but be the contrarian to everything, so this is the top of the mountain to them.

Although, it's gotten big enough of a push, that I think that it's become a, "How do I make money off of really dumb people without actually doing anything illegal? Oh, I'll throw this flat earth thing out there, if anyone responds, I know I've found my base of true idiots and I can milk them for a ton of money."

This is definitely in the realm of stupid or liar. You are either too stupid to realize how idiotic this theory is, or you are lying about believing in it.

This has to be a cult like phenomenon right? Where some smart dirtbag convinces these people of the conspiracy and then takes their money through them buying his flat earth t shirts or something.
If only that was the case.

I think most of these people are just very dedicated trolls. I mean, this whole thing has to be some form of performance art right?

Or maybe the guy who started this whole movement is like the next coming of L. Ron Hubbard. He probably made a bet with a friend that he could get a bunch of knuckleheads to really believe the earth is flat. Soon it will be a cult if it isn't already.

What happens to the water in the oceans??? Is there some sort of lip at the edge or does it just flow off into space like it does in Asgard?

It's the stupid one. I've read enough about these people to stick with that option.

Do they dress up as animals?

There was a furry convention in my office complex. It was a little oddto see people dressed like raccoons or squirrels enjoying a smoke by the doors.

I'd feel thankful if that's all I saw them doing.

This is pretty true for the one I know. Any logical facts are rebutted by “the government is lying to you”. It’s the ultimate fallback. He knows he is full of **** and has zero to back it up, so that’s the fallback. It’s just a way to say everyone is out to get them and I must fight the system.

Wouldn't one be able to triangulate the distances between NYC, Rio and Cape Town to pretty easily debunk that frisbee they were referencing?
