Little off topic here, but does anyone recall that 6"11 kid we were recruiting either last year or the year prior. I can't recall his name, but he had come to the States from Africa and everyone kind of thought he had a high potential. I was wondering what he's up to now and where he went.
The first one, mostly. A school the size of Grand View Christian can give a lot more attention to Issa than a school like North, where resources are stretched very thin. Are you saying and North are bad school academically, or that they couldn't handle someone who is not a native english speaker? I can tell you from experience that Hoover has a very high percentage of ELL students.
I could see them wanting to have him in a smaller school environment to help his transition though.

I do recognize that the number of ELL students is significant at those schools, but that doesn't mean that they are successful or adequate .
Emmanuel Malou? had to forgo due to eligibility issues with the first Prep School he went to. Last I saw he was trying out the G-League, but haven't seen much since.Little off topic here, but does anyone recall that 6"11 kid we were recruiting either last year or the year prior. Edit: beat me to it. I remembered he grew up in Australia, but for some reason I thought he was a Kenya native?
He is in Estonia. It looks like it just got announced he will be playing with BC Tallinna KalevHe has a link to the Rio Grand Valley Vipers, but he's not on their current roster, so that probably didn't work out.
And Grand View Christian got an A-Des Moines North actually got a B- in academics on Niche.com, Des Moines Hoover a C+, not as high as some schools but I would hardly qualify them as bad academic schools. Good students are going to perform at whatever school they are attending.

I won't argue that Grand View Christian has better academics than the public schools, but it will be hard to assess his talent against 1A competition. Is he on an AAU team? If not, he needs to be in order to get that experience. And Grand View Christian got an A-
I would hope he plays AAU, otherwise the small school thing is a huge issue.I won't argue that Grand View Christian has better academics than the public schools, but it will be hard to assess his talent against 1A competition. This. Except for the whole "she" part. Then Dandy is correct. She doubted he was a 2018 prospect as the thread title stated.
The CIML isn’t that great of metric either. In terms of accessing a recruit from an Iowa high school it’s all about AAU.You'e right, I was looking at Sioux City North. My point is, academics are fine and all, but if he's going to play college ball, might be better to get an idea of how he performs against better competition. Maybe that's what AAU will prove?
