For anyone whose kid wants to drag them to see A Wrinkle in Time, let me save you some money. Just go pop some popcorn, maybe do some cheap acid and stare through a kaleidoscope.

It had a lot of biggish names, but it had painful dialogue, a patch-work plot and bad acting. It was like a Disney Channel movie with a bigger budget.

That's too bad. I really loved the book as a kid and I was considering to take our 8 year-old daughter to watch it. No cheap acid for my kid, let me tell you!!

Recent forum is spammed with 9 or 10 wrestling threads. Guess we needed a separate thread for every weight and then some. We had less threads back when we were actually somewhat relevant. Welcome to the off-season!

I think the wrestling fans are actually buying in on Dresser &Co. There was quite a bit of activity in the NCAA wrestling tourney thread. Hopefully they can get wrestling back to being relevant, It would be nice to have some All Americans again.

I'm not much of a wrestling fan but certainly understand what it used to be at ISU and why the wrestling backers want it to come back to relevancy.

I kind of want to wander into one of those threads and mention it just to rile up the wrestling fans. They rile up fast.

Not exactly sure.

When I was opted into the cave, it was about that ratio permanently. One day like that for wrestling won't hurt anybody.

Deeerrrrrrpp.

Forgot to put the lid down on the washer. Glad I caught it now instead of later tonight.

Ran five miles. Did not die. Issue seemed in doubt at the one mile mark.
This is how my running goes too, once I hit a stride I'm fine... but the older I get the longer it takes for my muscles and lungs to get accustomed to running. I was always a gifted runner in school, so this whole thing is weird to me.

So I applied to a job in Wichita more out of curiosity of where I am in the workforce in terms of being marketable kind of thing. Then they called me for an interview today and we are trying to figure out how serious we actually are. Leaning towards not all that serious with MrsWx health issues still being somewhat up in the air.

Wait till you try running at age 66. I keep telling myself that being able to run 5 miles without hips and knees hurting is a gift. The downside is mentally I am having a really hard time with how slow I am compared to my 30's. Age has take a YUGE tll there.

I never read the book. Maybe the movie holds some nostalgia that I'm otherwise lacking. Don't let my opinion sway you if you want to take your daughter to see it. My 10 year old loved it FWIW. My wife had read the book and liked it more than me.

I'm normally a pretty big sucker for Disney's kid movies, but I was pretty clearly outside of the target audience with this one.

I've heard mixed reviews on the movie. I read the book but it has been a few years, the 12yr old just read it. It is the first of a series of 4 books and I've heard the other books are better.

Just finished Stranger Things season one with the oldest. Now I just need to watch The Last Jedi when it comes out next week and I'll totally be caught up to 2017. Not really. Oh, I did start Wonder Woman today--made a good movie to watch while on the treadmill.
