I dont know if a player that has to sit out 2018-19 is a great insurance policy for Wigginton going pro.

Maybe for the year after that...?

We are going to be losing these guards/wings after next year for sure...

Shayok
Talley
Weiler-Babb

...plus some high probability of Wigginton.

That might be 2-4 starters and 4 rotation guys on the perimeter.

Some of the younger guys better be ready to step up quickly after that (Lewis, Horton-Tucker, Haliburton, etc.) or we better have some transfers coming off red-shirts.

Yes after his junior year. If he don’t go pro this kid is a good backup

That is the curious aspect of recruiting a sit 1 and play 1 transfer.
If your going to invest a Red Shirt year on Coleman I would expect him to be penciled in as a starter like Shayok. I doubt any player/coach would put that much time in for one year to come off the bench. I doubt any player that has multiple options to become a starter their RS Senior year would go that route either.

Not someone ISU needs but jeez Illinois is going to be bad again next year. Good for ISU if they’re going to continue recruiting Illinois.

If we can show those guys having success, people in the chicagoland will take notice. Not everyone will like it, but if Prohm gives those young guys their opportunities and we can make it back to the NCAA tourney, it is a big boost for us going forward.

That being said, Chicago is always a minefield when it comes to recruiting, so you better ID the best players for your system and recognize what situations they have around them before going full-on, after a recruit.

Javan White - Grad Transfer from Oral Roberts (Ames High Grad) - 2 years of eligibility left. 6'10" - very athletic - Averaged about 11 pts - 9 reb.

  • javanwhite25After a time of praying and discussing with my family over spring break, the door has been opened and I have decided to transfer from ORU after I graduate this May. I am thankful for the opportunity I got to pursue an education as well as play the game I love. I am excited about the new opportunity this will present to me and I believe that the best is yet to come.

If this was last March we’d probably be very interested imo. After struggling early against Ok St and Penn St, he did have good games against KSU and UNLV.
