Testifying
Casey's slushes.
I was telling my wife about those the other day! I told her they were like 39, 49, and 59 cents and they were behind the counter and had 4 flavors of syrup they could add.

Anyone else old enough to remember when Bugles, Whistles and Pizza Spins were available? Of those three, I don’t understand how only Bugles survived because the cheesy Whistles were the best! Although caramel Bugles are good, I admit.

the Cherry DQ thing got me to thinking that they have also discontinued blueberry sundaes too. Always my favorite.

Every now I then something triggers childhood and snacks/candy that have since gone by the wayside that I wish they still had around. What are your picks that you wish they brought back?

Mine:

I can't even find a pic of these but there was a competitor to Combos in the 80s called Doolies. Heads and shoulders better than Combos and I still love Combos. Basically they were hollow/ridged potato snacks like Combos but the center was sour cream and onion and you could literally suck out the filling. They were incredible.

Possibly my biggest wish though is having Hy Vee bring back their take and bake pizza called Moose Brothers. Holy **** was that stuff amazing.

Remember when Casey's used to sell fried chicken? My dad loved that (and I did too!).

Chicken and biscuits was soooo good. My dad would take my brother and me up to Eddyville to the drag strip. Pick up some chicken at Casey's, eat before the races, and pick up cans for baseball card money.

I totally forgot about Pizzarias those chips were addictive. I also loved jello puddling pops. Also someone mentioned Schwans, loved the Carmel Apple Pops, those were crazy delicious.

Not an obsolescence thing, but I want the Gummy/Chewy Revolution to stop invading some simple candy-pleasures, such as Life Savers and SweetTarts. Have all the options you want, but please make the "old boring versions" equally available.

Also: Return Life Savers 5-Flavors standard to cherry-orange-lemon-lime-pineapple. (Or replace pineapple with grape .. that'd be even better). F*** watermelon.

/end rant
