Not exactly sure.
@BCClone I am sometimes surprised to see how many locals there are still in our small town school. Not so much teachers, but parents. We do have some families where two generations are teachers here and from here, but thankfully we are very strong academically. My own hometown on the other hand has horrible administration and questionable teachers in some subjects. A few there from when I was in school. There are a couple music/band teachers I had in elementary school.

I would say probably 90% of the smart ones leave town so that means the dumb ones stick around. Then it gets compounded by the inbreeding. I’m not joking here, there are mor groups of second cousins married in this town than Pants claims to have sources in basketball threads.

Just saw Hereditary. @GTO don’t know if you were excited for this one or not, but my recommendation is don’t waste your time.
No, I have not watched that one yet. Haven't watched many movies lately. I've been busy configuring an emulator gaming tablet I got years ago that was just sitting in my closet. I was meaning to bump that horror movie thread with some of the last ones I watched. Maybe in a couple of weeks.

Sorry if brought this up to you already, but have you ever seen a 70s horror flick called "Rituals"?

Some days better than others. The wife signed me up for this grief support group at church this weekend. We'll see how that goes. Having my mom come visit for a few days was nice, but sad at the same time, since it just felt like my brother was missing. They always used to come visit me together. At least it was a good distraction for her to be around family.

I think you mentioned it before, but I don't think I've watched it. If you're into 70's horror movies and are a fan of David Cronenberg (Scanners, Videodrome) I would recommend Shivers. That one was pretty interesting and an innovative premise for a horror film at the time. Just don't watch with the kids.

Update with cold: stayed home from work on Tuesday. Wicked sinus headache, but no major coughing or runny/stuffy nose. No headache Wednesday, went into work...no big problem.

Fast forward to 12:30a on Thursday morning. The dam on my lungs break, and I have a pretty bad coughing spell. Get back to sleep, slept okay, but my sternum hurt when I woke up Thursday morning. Got myself some Alka Seltzer, seems to help. But, my coughing still sounds like a horse coughing. And this humidity isn't helping any.

You talking about BC?

Sounds like my hometown, except without the inbreeding, I think.

Pretty good day today, got quite a bit of odds and ends done. Garden mulched, yard mowed, new rhubarb watered, road bike lubed and aired and taken out for a 10? mile shake down seemed to work pretty good. New bike stand really worked well nice not to have to fool around trying to get it done the hard way.

Grilled steak for supper. It was good.

Not BC, not sure how many cousins married each other there. Sure there is one or two but parents never mentioned them. Could ask my mom, she’s an old graduate of that town.

Back from nephews graduation. Snuck into Minnesota’s and back without too many people seeing me. Saw an ISU shirt there, pointed out to my sister. She told me they live by her and then mentioned, you know....they are “Ag” people. I was polite and didn’t give her the WTF does that mean since it was my nephews day.

DH got a little crunk, not too much. It was great to see all our friends though, fun wedding. I laughed so much I thought I'd go into labor. Best man is one of our friends and he did a speech that was both touching and hilarious. Played up how after he moved east coast, he started seeing and hearing about the "new girl" and proceeded to play up how he was jealous that she was taking his old spot. Showed pics of he and groom doing something together and then the next pic would be of bride and groom doing that same thing. It got a lot of laughs.

Got to chat with meow friend (and that story came up again! Now people who weren't even there insist they were present for it! I'm never going to live this down!) and we talked about her 10 month old. It was nice to hear how much they've enjoyed their little guy. I mostly get horror stories so it was nice to get actual helpful advice like call me when you're crying for no reason the first weeks. But that they've had so much fun with him and both she and her spouse are like you'll be just fine. Also cute seeing DH do dad talk with the other dad.

Fun times though I'm a bit sad that it'll probably be a long time before we're all together as a group again. Though the east coast couple may come out for NYE, we'll see. The group has been floating the idea of a resort type trip early next year but I just don't know if we could do that, so I'm rooting for the NYE visit instead.

Welp 1st longer ride of the yr in, 28 miles 1 big hill no walk of shame on the hill so I'll count it as a win. Douchey drivers 0, sprayers in fields 4, cute female bikers 1 (that was a shock!) lady roller bladers in thongs 0. Yes Boxster's rides are more interesting than mine.

Bowl of ice cream for lunch added walnuts to it and had a glass of milk with it, so I'll count it as healthy. By the way my hill climbing suuuuucked, yes I'm out of practice/shape.
