You weren't lying, quite the take here.
"I think this guy commits to Northwestern or Minny. NU would have a pretty good duo with the QB transfer from Clemson - Hunter Johnson (who was #1 QB recruit last year) and RB J. Brock. But who ever he commits to may have a battle to keep him. I think this kid wants to lock up a spot and look for a better fit if it comes. That is one reason, I think the Hawkeye coaches were smart to move on from Brock. I think he is a de-commitment waiting to happen. Go Hawks! Goodson is the real deal and will stay committed."

Sounds like an insider.

Umm... he has offers from Notre Dame and Michigan State. It doesn't get much better than that for a very good but not elite recruit.

Wait, our in-state rival is bad mouthing one of our possible recruits? I never thought I'd see the day where this stuff happens.
Not only that, they are insinuating that he asked the Iowa coaches directly to get paid and that is why their coaches pulled the offer. Character Issue Red Flags everywhere. etc. etc.

OMG. I hope we never do anything like that on our message boards.
"I’ve been saying character issues forever, it’s rumored that he asked for money. Don’t kill the messenger, just a commits parent"

"Yeah, if we are gonna pay for a recruit let’s budget and pay for some 5 Star WR’s and maybe a punter. This guys offer list doesn’t exactly scream “pay me”....... or else I will go to ISU, MN, or NW. But never know with kids I guess."

This is priceless, someone calling out the hypocrisy on their own site.

"They also still have 16,000 offers out to 2019 RB’s, future is looking bright at RB for the clones."

"You should stop for a second and realize what you're doing here. I'll help:
In a thread dedicated to commending Iowa for withdrawing a scholarship offer, you are criticizing ISU for offering more scholarships than it intends to give."

It really is pretty impressive how they can generate a "bad character" persona around a kid in just over 1 page of a thread. They all slowly justify the first bad post, and somehow all turn into believing it themselves. "Oh yeah, he totally must've been asking for money and had character issues. Why else would Iowa pull an offer? Good thing Goodson IS IOWA CULTURE" yadda yadda

247 guys said it best when they called Iowa's media a bunch of puppets who spin everything the football program wants. It's been confirmed Iowa is very upset Brock cancelled his OV there because they thought they were in the driver's seat with him

There are people in every fan base that do it. There are people on here that do it.

But the real question is, who will turn out to be the better back, Hall or Brock?

They scheduled his ov last and pressured him yet they rag on fleck all the time for doing it .

Every fan base assumes that a player asks for money and that is why they are no longer coming? I mean, the closest I've seen to that on here is the handler situations with UNLV and Rashad Vaughn, but there was a lot more actual substance to that assumption than just saying you heard through the grapevine a kid straight up asked your coaching staff to pay him.

Sorry, but I don't agree with that.

And that is a great question to have, lets hope ISU has to make it.

Jirehl Brock is a fine prospect who brings positive intangibles and self motivation. Coach Campbell recruits kids who will have a positive attitude and work ethic. The culture of everyone giving their best effort and self sacrifice for the good of the team by all recruits is what will elevate our program.

As we go forward, it seems that Campbell is already having better retention with the younger recruits beating out many older recruits. We are building a program. Enjoy the ride.

The kid that went to UNLV last year. But I am not talking about the specifics I am talking about coming up with reasons why "we didn't want him anyway". That is a universal thing.
