Let the rot where they are, dying a slow, suffocating death in the Big Ten West. With the same ten (or eleven with the regularity of UNI) P5 teams every year, I get a little bored with the lack of variety to the schedule, but if anything, any schedule change by Pollard would probably be to lock down another home game and alternating NU with Iowa home/home every four years gets him no closer to that.

Now if they decide they want to come back as a full member of the Big 12, we can discuss it, but they should know their share would be pro-rated for a period of time, much like it was when they went to the B1G.

So Nebraska wants their “Big” non-con game against ISU? Lol - how “Big Red” of them. You want to prove NU is back? Schedule OU, A&M or Texas.
They have to make up for their shittee big10 conf schedule somehow.

If every power 5 team had to play 11 power 5 games a year, then adding Nebraska a few times every 10-12 years would be fun.

The most fun would be for them to find out how hard it is now for visiting teams to buy tickets in JTS.

Really hopeful realignment takes place with 8 geographical conferences. 8 teams per conference. Winner of each conference makes the playoff. Personally would absolutely love a conference of Iowa State, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota, Mizzou, Wisconsin. Rivalries would be unreal.

Yes, I would be super stoked to watch ISU vs Wisconsin. I also always tune in for Minnesota athletics, because I only watch the best.

It isn't. That's my point. It's a lateral move for ISU in terms of exposure so why fix what isn't broken? If Frost wants to renew old rivalries or beef up his non-con schedule he can look elsewhere.
Exactly. If they want the old Big 8, should have stayed. Because ISU gains nothing from a games with them, saying no just to spite them is the right move.

The last time the series went away, it was so that Iowa could ***** out of playing ISU. Why let them off the hook every other year?

I was thinking this exact same thing. ISU and Kansas State should take offense to this. Schedule OU, TX or TCU and ISU or KState.
Every team in the Big 12 should take offense to this. Nebby should get **** all from the Big 12 until 1.) they come crawling back, 2.) they become too good to ignore... which isn't going to happen.

If that doesn't fly, the Curse of Gary Barnett could work. Nebraska FB has been walking funny ever since this game:

But, but, you have to win your conference championship game to get into the playoff?

(reminder that NE earned the right to get smoked by Miami 6 weeks later by getting smoked in Boulder that day)

CU went nuts that day.

I wouldn't be completely against the idea. If he's talking about former Big 8 foes, at minimum it'd be once every couple of years.

This thread and past discussions about renewing some games vs. NU, MU and CU lead to a lot of fans saying, "Screw those guys, they left." But an occasional revival could connect with another topic we had on CF recently, about rivalries : Other than Iowa and perhaps KSU in football who else is a true rival for ISU? That's where we get to the definition of rivalry, those schools' recent defections couple with the long connection in Big 8 might add some fuel to a rivalry.

I'm not gung-ho about playing Nebraska (I could take it or leave it), but those are arguments I'd make in favor of doing it.
