I think this year we are adding a tailgater and TV. We're trying to find a different flag pole.. last years wouldn't work too well with high winds.

Those with tv's, what is a good set up with them? Usually we set up in B-4 and try to get a on the West side of the lot by the road.

What flag pole did you use last year? We are looking to get one and don't want to make a mistake and get the wrong one.

We bought a large propane griddle last year mainly for 11am kicks. I would love to put some new logos on the RV so that may be next

Flagpole-To-Go Ultimate Tailgaters Package with 17' Portable Flagpole"

Not sure if its this particular one, but one like it. For some reason I can't get the link to attach from Amazon.

We also put two pretty heavy flag on it, too which didn't help. If you have a light weight ISU flag and plan to only put one on there, it could work.

I've got my eyes on getting this heater for the cold weather tailgates:

This is mine; it's collapsible. I've really enjoyed it.

This is the kind of flag pole I have, holds up nicely in the wind. https://m.ebay.com/itm/20ft-Telesco...l1313.TR2.TRC1.A0.H0.Xportable+flag+pole.TRS0

As for tv, need to have a LED and a way to help stop glare from the sun (screen facing Hilton).

Can you ever have enough stuff? Strangely this is the first year where we feel like we have “everything.” Two best additions over the past few years...tailgater Dish antenna and what we felt was a great alternative to a Honda generator...the Briggs and Stratton P2200 (https://www.briggsandstratton.com/n...table-generators/p2200-powersmart-series.html).

There are always things that can be added or improved. The question is, are you satisfied with what you have?

Anyone looking for a portable Bluetooth speaker by chance for their tailgate? I won one at a work deal, don't need it and would sell cheaper than at store.

It's a bose soundlink revolve plus.

I got a goal zero 1400 battery generator, new 24 inch tv (starting small) and an electric cooler. Adding that to the coleman tailgate grill and tent that I got for xmas last December and I've seriously upgraded from the folding table and chairs I had been rocking. I'm ready for the first run!

Still deciding if I should do anything other than over the air for TV stations. I have direcTV at home already so thats an option. Anyone have any advice on a satellite setup that doesn't break the bank if you use your home receiver?

Winegard makes portable satellite dishes that automatically find the signal (it seems like it takes forever for us to find it manually), but only SD for DirecTV. We may switch to Dish because the same portable satellite dish can be used for HD with them.

That's all i could find too and standard def doesn't get me too excited to make that investment. Have read mixed thoughts on manual alignment.

Only thing new will probably be these ISU bags that someone mentioned in another post this summer that I gave as birthday gift idea when my wife asked what I wanted: https://www.etsy.com/listing/180530...arch_query=iowa state bags&ref=sr_gallery-1-3

I will say they are very well made, whoever posted those in another thread these are a must have if you have a bags game as they are WAY better than any of the cheap made ones that might come with a store bought set.

We actually have downsized our tailgate in recent years. We used to have a late 70's RV 4 of us owned together that was fun while it lasted but eventually between all the mechanical and maintenance issues it had and everyone starting families making it tougher to make the early tailgates. We had to get rid of it as it got to the point only 2 of us regularly would use it and all the prep time of cleaning and stocking it up with supplies then praying it would start when we turned the key just was not worth it anymore. Camping overnight before a game was fun and we got our money's worth out of what we put into it while we could but anyone who has owned a RV or bus probably will tell you it is a lot of work. Now that a lot of our tailgate group has kids in sports and stuff makes it tough to really get a consistent group out on a given weekend so we just setup a TV and a couple grills and a table of food and enjoy the company of whoever can make it anymore.
