Rhoads didn't kick Albert Gary, Devondrick Nealy, Aaron Horne, Quienton Pompey or Duran Hollis off the team back in 2012 for doing similar thing. And those guys robbed someone while they were at it too!

Do you want Rhoads back?

Campbell did the right thing. Missouri had an ESPN outside the lines story a few years ago detailing how coach Pinkel was ignoring a series of problem in his program. That story hurt the program far more than Pinkel disciplining the culprits would have.

Campbell is thinking long term which is a positive thing because it indicates he is planning on being at ISU long term and he is the best thing that has happened to ISU football in decades.

Its moreso people saying how tough he laid down the law, much tougher than TOE.

We don't know if he did anything yet. They could be reinstated tomorrow. They could be out the whole year.
Indefinites fine here, let it blow over a bit and reinstate them in few weeks. I'm one for thinking this wasn't a big deal.

You quoted my post. I did not involve the TOE.

He did lay down the law, you can not deny that. They are barred from the facilities are suspended, so how can you say he didn't do anything?

Indefinite is a nice way of say until you've proven yourself and have completed the required punishment.

Why are you being obtuse?

I agree with your last sentence.

To bad they didn't just cover up spouse abuse or we would not be in this mess. 3 game suspension and back to playing.

I disagree with those that seem to think Scates wouldn't see the field. The kids is the real deal when it comes to his ability and athleticism. Obviously his head needs to stay on straight, but with the new 4 game rule, I could see him getting in and showing the coaches what he is capable of to the point where they wouldn't redshirt him.

My guess is, like earlier postings, these guys probably ran afoul of coaches a few times in a small way and got the "final warning" message. Then this bb/airsoft thing happens. So CMC drops the banhammer.

"Suspended indefinitely" seems like it should be enough to scare them straight (hopefully) while still allowing them to be brought back fairly quickly if warranted. And yeah, they weren't going to play much anyway (Scates excepted possibly). And it sends a good message to the team.

CMC handled it very well, imho.

A BB rifle and a .22 don't look all that different at a distance.

Way up there
At this point in the season, missing the next week of practice is more or less akin to missing games. The practice reps they are losing are going to competing players, they'll be playing catch up all year.

The one on the left definitely could be mistaken for a real handgun. The one on the right looks like a BB gun.
At night, if Johnny Law has to make a split second decision- putting fire down makes sense.

Excellent. I love it. Campbell keeps doing the right thing. No 4 star treatment for you, Mr. Bates.

Especially as freshman. That's a big mental aspect and also getting the speed of the college game.

This isn't David Montgomery who looks like he could run the offense in his sleep.

Not to mention gaining the trust back from teammates.

These are 4 young freshman who did something stupid....they got caught....and now are going to pay the price. It doesn't mean that they are bad kids. They made a mistake and hopefully they learn from it. If not they probably won't be around next year.
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if some of them play this year yet...if they get their heads straight.

Attitude adjustment. We all need it sooner or later, some more than others. Set the tone. They will figure it out hopefully.

Did you read the full release? They are excluded from any team activities and facilities. That's laying down the law pretty heavily dependent on the time frame which will probably depend on their responsiveness to the punishment.

I'd also grab their warmups and give them some 1970's gray sweats to wear around until midterms so the jersey-chasers aren't confused about them being on the team at the moment.
Good job Coach Campbell.
