Please don’t take this comment as a negative. This class has a very Kansas State feel to it. 3 unranked 3 stars. I say don’t take it as a negative comment because I feel like KSU does a pretty good job at landing under the radar 3-stars and I feel that’s what this class will be like.
I get what you’re saying. Some of our best players have been 3 stars. I honestly love them. They don’t have enough stars to be cocky and arrogant, and they have something they want to prove. Prohm will mold them into 5 star talent. Also, it seems that the 3 star guys are more likely to stay more than a year or two.

My brain was just going over the way-too-early roster projection for 2019. Leech, Anderson and Jackson will join a solid core, I'm guessing. Hopefully, THT really takes off his sophomore year. This assumes that Wigginton will be gone and no other transfers out but it could look something like this:

Bigs: Young Lard, Jacobson, Conditt

Wings / Forwards: Lewis, Horton-Tucker, Griffin

Guards: P. Nixon, Haliburton (I suppose you could put THT in this slot as well; need to see him play)

I could see room for another 1-2 type player from HS, JUCO or transfer ranks here. A point or combo guard.

Looking ahead, we could be a little short of depth at guard while having 4 quality P5 bigs (Am hoping we can call Conditt one in his 2nd season); has there ever been a season like that at ISU?

Anyway, this is all just a little fun speculation. Welcome to ISU hoops, Tre.

When he hits a 3, will the announcer say, "Trey, Jackson!"? Because I would.

I’d be surprised if he he doesn’t. He and Jackson aren’t exactly similar players.

That wasn’t the negative part. To compare Luke and Marcedus to unknown, “unranked” players was. Those two are nothing like K-State’s usual fare. Absolutely nothing.

If we still want him, I would think he does still come considering he hasn't set up any other visits. But I could definitely see us backing off and waiting until Spring for a transfer or Juco if Wigginton leaves. Adding an older player seems ideal with losing Babb, Shayok and Wiggs

Way up there
I this this class has potential but it'll be interesting if any of the 3 play as freshmen. I think they could have on previous teams but there aren't many minutes to go around. Virtually none at all in the front court.

Kind of disappointing when compared to Lindell and monte out of highschool but on par with the two pg’s out of Murray St that are playing in the nba.

Tre Jackson #368
Lindell #35
Monte #83

Isaiah Canaan #760
Cameron Payne #359

Isn't there still a whole nother year for rankings to shake up

Yeah, he doesn't even have a ranking, which is a little concerning. Some move up and some move down, but I'd be shocked if he is higher than 200 in the 247 composite after the final rankings come out.

Looks like a good pick up, from video he looks pretty athletic and skilled. Its the ones that aren't skilled that struggle badly here and end up transferring to a much lower level. Its actually impressive we have a roster next year that I cant point at anybody and go, they will probably transfer (it will still happen because someone wants more playing time but its not a given like in the past).

IMHO we'll always need a few breaks to go our way to land the 4/5 stars.

Been a long time since we've had solid back to back to back classes of fall signee high school kids.

PG named Tre? Love this kid already.

I don’t get how comparing two unranked 3-stars to successful unranked 3-stars KSU has landed is negative. All I’m trying to say is I could see our guys out performing their ranking like many other unranked players have done.
