Makes me wonder if Ky Ky was wavering a bit and decided to lock up Tre while they had the chance. Lots of conversation going on for sure. A good get and still plenty of opportunities.

If we can snag a JUCO guard this fall let's do it. They'll still be an open scholarship in the spring for a transfer, there always is

I think the coaches preferred Tre over Kyky. Otherwise they would have had Kyky visit first, try to get a commitment and then have Tre come in for a visit if Kyky didn't commit. I realize Kyky is top 100 but to be honest his final 2 schools are not huge schools. Ole Miss and Xavier are very respectable basketball schools. So I am guessing Kyky was a backup recruit to Tre. Coaches saw something in Tre they liked.

Xavier is a top level program.

I do not know why people want to trash Xavier.

They were a #1 seed last season.

We have never been a #1 seed.

They won the Big East regular season championship over the Death Star that was Villanova. They are a good program with long-term success.

Beating them for THT was just as impressive as beating Illinois.

This may be true, but I think many OV are more about just when you can get the kids on campus.

But Xavier is in Cincinnati and they put NOODLES in their chili. That means they're freaks and not in a good way.

I thought I read somewhere this summer, that Prohm said he wouldn't over recruit the scholarship limit. It may have been a poster's opinion though.

Wonder if the Chicago kid is in play? I think we go juco or transfer from here on out.

I have seen indications Jacobs is currently planning at a Spring commitment. If true, I could see the staff having interest (especially if there is unexpected attrition).

I think it is more likely the staff will pursue a JC or Transfer to "replace" Wigginton if he goes pro. I assume they would like a older seasoned guard that can step right in if needed. That could change if the staff thinks Haliburton is ready for a full time role Tre will be the development PG for 2019, and he has potential.

Honestly that is unknown at this point. They lost their head coach to Louisville. Never know where a new coach can take a program.

Yeah, you're right, but their last 3 coaches have been Thad Matta, Sean Miller, and Mack. Very well established Top 25 program.

That is impressive but also very rare and the odds are that the next coach isn't as successful.

IDK. IMO Odds are better for a coach in Steele's promotion than a fully new Coach and staff bringing in a new system/recruits and fitting in. Steele had been the lead assistant at Xavier for while and is know for his recruiting making it as seamless of a transition as could be expected. Steele is very respected and if Mack wouldn't have left he would have a P5 Job somewhere. This year will be a little down (W's) just due to the seniors they lost but they are still very talented.
There were many concerned Luke Anderson was going to commit to X when Steele was promoted.
