Cardinal outline on the I and cardinal outline on the jersey numerals might be good subtle touches. I guess the concept of the all-black look is to be completely monochrome, and it's well put-together. Not my favorite look, but it works.
Monochrome makes me think of black and white TV’s, and very old movies. Not a forward to me.
The one thing I think we should do for future “blackout” games is paint the logo and end zones black and white to match the uniforms
I remember when I first started following football as a boy, watching on black-and-white TV, and imagining what the uniforms looked like in full color.
Edit/addition: At the time, most newspaper photos were grayscale, too, so I couldn't get any information from that.
I remember my dad, grandfather and uncles gathered around a black and white TV, intently watching football on Thanksgiving.
I think I’m older now than my grandfather was then.

When you get to be my age you can only handle so many alt-uniforms. When I was a young pup I could go for new unis every quarter.
I’m 35, it gets more and more difficult, but I just get super horny for uniforms.
You heard it here first, Next year we will wear the T-Rex uniforms with cool helmets.
Keith Murphy called the black uniforms "Black Death" on Sound Off last night. My wife (Mrs. Gaggi) had too much wine to drink and thought the team in white was Iowa State. She may need to go away to rehab with Dean Wormer's wife.

I'd love to see black again, but with the red chrome helmets and black/silver stenciled I-State.
