September bye weeks are not good, generally, for college football teams.

Here is my hope, ISU and TCU both have open dates week 2, maybe get a Big 12 game week 2. TCU will be better second half of 2019 compared to the first month.
The round robin format is bad for the Big 12, it makes it much harder to get to the college football playoff. ACC and SEC have made each one, they have 8 conference games. Quality wins are the key to make CFP, this means beating a team with a >.500 record. Beating 7-5 Akron is better in the eyes of the committee than beating 6-6 Kansas St.
Going to 8 conference games reduces guaranteed losses by 5 for the conference. Teams can pick up a team like Akron to play against which ups your resume. Follow
