Games 5-10 could potentially be pretty brutal, depending on how teams look next year.

Great schedule and love the BIG 12 format by playing everyone in your conference to determine your true conference champion.
Unlike the Slow 10 where the first thing TOE fans do is to check to see who their NOT playing then start their ignorant crap.

Speaking of the hawks, curious which team would be viewed to have the scheduling advantage before that game

ISU with UNI, bye, Cy-hawk

or

Iowa with Miami (OH), Rutgers, Cy-Hawk.
I think swapping the ULM game and the bye would have been absolute best since I think game is better than no game (as we saw this year) but I don't think it's a huge deal

I'd probably take iowa's - two tuneups is better than one

September bye weeks are not good, generally, for college football teams. @cfbmatrix tracks that and always tweets notes about that.

Here is my hope, ISU and TCU both have open dates week 2, maybe get a Big 12 game week 2. TCU will be better second half of 2019 compared to the first month.

The round robin format is bad for the Big 12, it makes it much harder to get to the college football playoff. ACC and SEC have made each one, they have 8 conference games. Quality wins are the key to make CFP, this means beating a team with a >.500 record. Beating 7-5 Akron is better in the eyes of the committee than beating 6-6 Kansas St.

Going to 8 conference games reduces guaranteed losses by 5 for the conference. Teams can pick up a team like Akron to play against which ups your resume. Follow @cfbmatrix and @cfb_professor on Twitter. They send out updates and are pretty spot on for the Top 25 rankings released by the committee.

The OU game has potential Thursday/Friday night game potential. Both teams have a bye the week before. I can’t recall what the rules are with that and if the home team has to agree or if it exclusively ESPN’s decision.

It’s a OU home game, so I doubt it. They’re fans would flip ****

Agreed, I just read something this week, that when the latest TV contract was signed, OU insisted on never having to play on Thursday.

When was the last time we had 2 bye weeks? Also rare when we have 7 games at home back to back seasons.

11-1 lone loss to OK, we get them back in the Big 12 Championship, but are left out of the Playoffs to a 2 loss Alabama team, because well, Bama.

Agree with several others that this is one of the more favorable schedules I can remember in recent years. Looks like the Oklahoma State game will be Homecoming based on where it falls in the schedule.
