Hawk fan are just too used to the fake rumors that used to circulate about KF. He is going to Pit, he is going to ND, he is going to the NFL, every time they would give him and his assistance a big raise to keep them in Iowa City. The truth is no one wanted Kirk, his agent just wanted more money.

If CMC leaves, he leaves. There are going to be some real opportunities for him, but he might be like KF, and stay because ISU fans will tolerate a 6-6 season or a 5-7 season where as some big name program would fire you for one or two bad seasons.

Dbag hawk fans will get what’s coming to them in a few years.
Anything can happen when coaches turn over. Look no further than our good friends to the west.

They are so insecure seeing what Campbell has rolling.

Wouldn't it be funny if there was a succession crisis in Iowa City in about 2-3 years? Kirk pushing for Brian to be his "heir apparent," maybe a rage quit is involved at some point, etc...?

TOE fans are hoping and praying CMC leaves in a year or two. They know he's the real deal so it's the only narrative they have left. They on the other hand have baby Ferentz to look forward to.

Judging by the fact he seems obsessed with our coaching situation I'd say you are correct sir

When uofi fans are commenting about ISU's head coach leaving, you can bet the program is headed in a good direction and they know it.

Some dimwad called up to 1460 asking how long ISU would keep CMC. Chris, rightfully so, asked him out. Accused the guy of little brother syndrome. The caller retorted that he didn't care about ISU. Rrrrrriiiiiggggghhhhhtttt. I am sure he is curious on how long Rutger's head coach will last too.

1. Any uofi fan that questions CMC's future at ISU is clearly scared about what is happening there and actually hoping CMC moves.

2. Any uofi fan that brings it up cares; see point 1. Just ask about any hot seat coaching job in the Big 10 and they won't have a clue because they don't care about that as much as they do about ISU.

3. While CMC may leave, I don't get that vibe at all. No insider information - only watching through social media. But, everything from win in the dark to chewing out linemen on a successful PAT to a continued upward trajectory suggests to me that he is here for a while.

I think the biggest thing that will keep Campbell here is the influence that Mount Union had on him. That place was built. The coach had chances I'm sure to move up and onward, but instead chose to build a legacy there. Think about it. That's where most of Matt's style comes from. Iowa State is a place with no real history of success.

That, or CMC is just another coach, speaking coach.

Matt Campbell is actually the type of coach who might stay longer term. He is making a lot of money. And in Iowa It goes a long way. Building a program from the ground floor up that has his name on it, at a place that hasn’t had much success. Energetic Fan Base. Ames is a great place to raise a family.

It is all about culture with Campbell. And character. Not sure he is that motivated by money. Or just taking over an established program that may not have the same type of underlying values that he wants in his program. Campbell has the opportunity to build a program from scratch that has the foundation he wants. Build it and he will get recognition even greater than going to a blue blood and just become another name on the list.

I love how hawk fans think CMC will jump at any job that comes up. he's only leaving for a head coach job at maybe a handful of schools (Ohio state, Notre dame, etc). I don't see those jobs being open very soon. I'm much more concerned about losing Heacock this year.

Exactly. Last year him not even talking with Tennessee when they wanted to was very telling

I feel like this post was taken from a few years ago and you just swapped out “Fred Hoiberg” and inserted “Matt Campbell.”
